Specializing in infectiously energetic reality rap, St. Petersburg, FL’s OTM Frenchyy is on the road to stardom. Taking a break from his boastful bangers to reflect on his troubles, OTM Frenchyy opens up on “Trials & Tribulations,” his latest single. Teaming up with crewmate OTM Ruger over a delicate piano-laden beat, Frenchyy shines a spotlight on the violence and poverty he witnesses every day, lays out his plan for escaping out the mud, and resists the temptation to snitch to law enforcement: “I been through a lot of trials and tribulations/I seen a couple n*ggas fold in that interrogation/That’s the main reason I don’t need a co-defendant/The hardest n*gga be the first n*gga start snitchin’.” In the video, premiered by Dirty-Glove Bastard, Frenchyy and Ruger bring out the block, gathering 30-40 neighborhood denizens to offer support to the OTM gang. “Trials & Tribulations” follows the raucous video fro “Bricks To The A,” premiered last week by Dirty-Glove Bastard.
One half of the OTM duo, along with OTM Ruger, Frenchyy is one of the most promising rappers in Florida. Building up a grassroots fanbase with an endless stream of quality videos, Frenchyy had several tracks cross the 100,000 view mark on YouTube, including the poignant “Out The Mud,” and the hedonistic “I Need More.” Signed to Alamo Records, OTM Frenchyy is steadily gaining fans and earning critical attention.
