Today, 23rd March, 7Chariot (pronounced: seven chariot) releases her second ‘Danger In Me’ via London based label 0E0E. Displaying an ambitious pop sound – utilising intriguing vocal samples, and booming percussion, flecked with delicate brass sections – ‘Danger In Me’ is another exemplary example of her songwriting and vocal talents.
7Chariot is the professional alias of Nashville based 20 year old Claire Wilkinson. Working as a songwriter and musician since the age of 17, now 3 years on she’s stepped outside of her comfort zone, quickly giving her a renewed sense of passion for her craft.
The concept for new single ‘Danger In Me’ was written on a broken keyboard in 7Chariot’s apartment, recounting the moments where she sometimes felt a little jagged and awkward in being who she was. Speaking a little more on the lyrical meaning behind the new track, 7Chariot said: “It’s about feeling vulnerable yet brazen and closed off; it’s about being a bit of a contradiction. It’s incredibly personal, and in many ways I believe I wrote it as a means of self-validation for the qualities I find most challenging in my own experience.”
