SKOPE NEWS FOR MARCH 30, 2017

LIV CARTLEDGE Releases ‘YOU GOT ME HIGH’

The soft guitar picking and dulcet cowbell pace will instantly apprehend your senses with soulful songstress Liv Cartledge’s intrinsic single ‘YOU GOT ME HIGH’.

Hailing from Victoria’s goldrush town of Beechworth Liv Cartledge has taken the road less travelled to arrive in 2017 guitar in hand and armed with a bevy of disarming songs. As her father’s musical apprentice throughout the early years of her life, Cartledge caught the music bug early on, “Dad showed me many tricks of the trade, one of them being how to strum a chord on guitar on the couch at my Gran and Pops house in Bendigo and from that moment I was sold” from then on there was no turning back. At the tender age of twelve Cartledge began busking in her hometown and joining her builder by day, musician by night dad on stage, and as they say the rest is history.

Brett Gleason releases video for current single “Expiration Date”

Brooklyn based singer/songwriter Brett Gleason has just premiered the supremely melancholic video for his current single “Expiration Date” at Purevolume.com. A bleak testament to love’s inherent conclusion, the black and white video took Gleason almost a year to complete, and can be seen here.

Brett had this to say about the video: The ‘Expiration Date’ video took almost a year to make. Whereas the song is a general take on the temporary nature of love and life, the video became more personal with each shoot – the photograph at the start is a picture of me with my first boyfriend and the cemetery we shot in is one where I’ve mourned too many friends. Ultimately, whether dealing with loves loss from death or otherwise, it becomes increasingly difficult to be present in a relationship with the knowledge that every love that’s come before has come to an end, and you will too.

Before long we began auditioning drummers and Jason Jaros entered the picture.” Soon after the recording of Cold World commenced Nowak had to step down due to personal reasons, to be replaced by Steve Vuko. “After auditioning more than enough guitarists, it was obvious that Steve just had the chemistry needed to fill Mike’s shoes,” Jason recalls.
