The Scars Heal In Time – ‘I’m About To Break’ Video
The Scars Heal in Time is a band that has continuously pushed and pulled its way through their ever growing successes. The high energy hard rock sound that they bring to the scene is a fresh new take from the music scene from Houston TX and is not to be overlooked. Currently in the studio with producer Justin Rimer, the band will release an EP this summer and will be touring throughout the year.
“Working with Justin is always more than a pleasure. The amount of knowledge he has and passion for what he does really comes out during the production process. He brings a lot to the table with his writing experience and out of the box production ideas. It’s always such a great time, Justin is one of the most accommodating people and is genuinely a great guy, which also makes him extremely easy to work with and we are always blown away by the final product.”-The Scars Heal in Time
Last week, Kikagaku Moyo premiered “In A Coil,” the lead single, from their upcoming new EP, via Wonderland. Their 5-track record ‘Stone Garden’ is set to come out April 21st, via Guruguru Brain. The band has recently announced their spring North American tour, to kick off in Philadelphia on May 2nd.
‘Stone Garden’ started in a basement studio in Prague with a nearly continuous session over several days and nights. The original concept was influenced by the raw and seemingly endless jams of psychedelic pioneers. The freeform songs that emerged from those sessions were refined over several months at the band’s home in Tokyo where each song was sculpted into an uncommon form.
THE RECORD COMPANY RELEASE NEW SINGLE, “BABY, I’M BROKEN”
On the heels of their GRAMMY-nominated debut album Give It Back to You, The Record Company has released their rollicking new single, “Baby, I’m Broken.” The new single debuted on SirusXM’s The Spectrum last week and is already making an impact at Rock and Triple A radio across the U.S. “Baby, I’m Broken” has also received early placement on Spotify’s Rockin’ Vibes curated playlist.
The song premiered via All Things Go where the band’s Nicky Weinbach shared, “This is the track on the EP that we decided to mellow things out a bit. In fact, this is the only song on the record that doesn’t have any vocals harmonies, perhaps to better serve the song’s lyrical content. The sound effects and chorus guitar also kind of add to the tranquil mood. We still wanted the song to groove, though, and the drums and bass really drive that vibe home for us.”
Due to popular demand, global superstar Ed Sheeran has added more dates to his North American arena tour after the first 49 shows sold out within minutes of going on sale. On the heels of last Friday’s album release, Steel Town, nearly 10 years after moving to Nashville from ‘the steel city,’ singer/songwriter Steve Moakler is not only celebrating a new album but also a music video for his current single “Wheels” today, Monday, March 20, exclusively on all CMT platforms. The video, directed by Reid Long (ACM Video of the Year winner for Eric Church’s “Mr. Misunderstood”), follows the storyline of the single, inspired by the simplicities and complexities of the wheels that carry us through life. “Wheels,” written by Moakler, Gordie Sampson and Caitlyn Smith, is his third single at SiriusXM’s “The Highway.”
As Denmark’s black metal outfit ORM prepares to release their eponymous debut album via Indisciplinarian this Friday March 24th, the full album is now streaming early through Decibel Magazine.
ORM’s self-titled debut album clearly showcases the quartet’s brilliant and rocking take on epic melodic black metal, thematically illustrated by tales from a mythical cosmos of ancient times. The album consists of five grandiose and ambitious tracks produced by Lasse Ballade (Halshug, Solbrud) with artwork created by Italian artist Paolo Girardi (Inquisition, Black Breath, Power Trip). The first reviews highly appreciate the album’s qualities; on the band’s homeland, Metalized writes that, “ORM hereby enters the elite of black metal,” GFR states that the album is a, “metallic masterpiece.”
“Time Lapse” by Mushroom People
With an infectious stuttering vocal sample, culled from a sample of Thrice’s “Artist in the Ambulance”, the hook on “Time Lapse” emerges seamlessly. Effervescent twinkles just prior to the two-minute mark help assemble a stellar bridge, leading back into the vocal sample-laden hook, which touts dance-laden appeal and an electro-pop shimmer. The vocals during the verses pack a more anthemic rock-based feel, which makes the successful electronic incorporation welcoming and effective.
Introducing Elaine Mai
Introducing Elaine Mai with this new remix of Liza Flume’s ‘Sheets’. The video, directed by Bob Gallagher – who directs the videos for Girl Band and is currently working with Werner Herzog – details a failing relationship. Elaine is also hugely involved in LBGT politics in Ireland, saying:
“The Marriage Equality campaign was such an amazing thing to witness and be part of, it’s something I’ll never forget. People from all over the country came together, worked together, campaigned, fund raised and canvassed together and changed the constitution here in Ireland. Ireland, a country that only decriminalized homosexuality in 1993 now has full marriage equality. We are living proof that real change and real progress is possible when people pull together.”

Striking out at the cynicism of the everyday, the pair seem able to cut straight to the heart of the matter. “What we sing about is the universal theme, which is love,” David explains. “As corny as it sounds, that’s in fact what we’re talking about: tolerance and love.”

The Buttertones’ Gravedigging is more a movie waiting to happen than an album—or a soundtrack just waiting to inspire a movie, with scene after scene of action, tension and release set to a sound that takes everything good and true about American music before the Beatles prettied it up (surf, sweet soul, the boss saxophone-overdrive garage of the Northwest wailers like the Sonics) and matches it to punk energy, post-punk precision and the kind of personality that blows the circuit-breakers at a backyard party. (Which actually happened, of course.) They’ve even got casting suggestions if anyone wants to start filming—like Willem DeFoe, Winona Ryder, Lucy Liu, and Tommy Wiseau in as many roles as possible. Says guitarist Dakota Boettcher: “We all love movies so much. When you listen to a soundtrack, it has peaks and it has lows, but it’s a whole journey. That’s what we want to do. We want you to go on a journey.”
