Ilana Armida Releases “Sweet Freedom” Video with Paste Magazine!

Pop/R&B singer, Ilana Armida always wanted to entertain and perform. She gravitated to music and theater at an early age and took her talents with her to college where she enrolled in Florida Atlantic University’s Commercial Music Business program. During her tenure at FAU, Armida took part in their student run record label Hoot/Wisdom Recordings where she learned the ins and outs of perfecting her craft. In 2013, Armida unleashed a short EP entitled Used Up, and is thrilled to be back with her follow up, Iridescent Flower Child which is to be released on January 13, 2017 through her own record label, Eastpark Entertainment.

Grammy Award-winning rapper Lupe Fiasco announces the release of his highly anticipated sixth studio album, Drogas Light, which is set to release on February 10 via his own label (1st & 15th/Thirty Tigers).

JD Eicher to hit the road in early 2017

JD Eicher, the Youngstown, Ohio-born and bred musician, will be heading out on tour again in early 2017, including a jaunt with labelmate Matt Brown in January, sailing on The Rock Boat in February, and an outing with Ruby Rose Fox in March. (See tour schedule below.) Eicher is touring in support of his most recent album, The Middle Distance, which was released in May 2016.

Also in 2016, Eicher teamed with author Nicholas Sparks in a unique collaboration to celebrate Sparks’ 20 years of publishing books. Eicher produced an original song and musical companion for Sparks’ forthcoming novel, Two By Two (which was published in October 2016). The soundtrack was available to fans for free via the author’s website in late 2016 and included four songs by Eicher, one of which — “Two by Two” — was new and inspired by the book. The EP also included a re-recorded version of “Not Afraid” from The Middle Distance, as well as two remasters of previously released songs — “Love Is Gonna Find You” and “The Last Love Song.” The song “Two by Two” was also incorporated into the narrative of Sparks’ novel.

Grammy-nominated artist Bernhoft’s video for “Visceral” premieres

The video for “Visceral,” the latest track to be revealed off Norwegian artist Bernhoft’s forthcoming EP The Morning Comes, is premiering today via Impose Magazine who says, “The track itself sets a seductive mood, something you can relax to or jam out to with friends. The video follows a man (dancer Fredrik Quinones) around the city in the dark as he communicates with a ball of light via his movement. Slightly difficult to describe, but it’s an experience all in itself, hence aligning perfectly with the title of the song.”

Indianapolis-based singer-songwriter Brett Wiscons to release album on October 28th

Indianapolis-based singer-songwriter Brett Wiscons is releasing his latest album – The Heineken Sessions Deluxe – on October 28, 2016 via his own label, MAD Diamond Entertainment. Wiscons was born in Chicago and raised in Plymouth, IN on a unique mélange of music ranging from vocal powerhouses Sade and Edwin McCain to rock bands Pearl Jam, the Eagles, and Hootie & the Blowfish. Within these influences, listeners will find his musical marriage – jangly pop, a dash of soul, and moody acoustics – creates a sound all his own.

For HSD, Wiscons paired up with two-time GRAMMY-winning producer, guitarist, and songwriter Mark Bryan in Awendaw, SC. (Bryan is a founding member of rock band Hootie & the Blowfish.) Containing ten tracks running the gamut from Americana to pop to rock to alt-country, HSD was written and recorded over a two-year period. “Writing and producing with Brett has been fun, and he’s become a good friend,” says Bryan. “From the first time I heard the hook of ‘Don’t Be the One,’ I knew people would be feeling it. I just listened to it for the first time in a while, and I feel like we did a nice job with it. Brett really found his voice on this recording.”

Frank Iero Speaks Exclusively to MTV

After a severe traffic accident left him hospitalized in late 2016, Frank Iero is finally on the mend and back in action, and will be performing songs off of his recently released album, Parachutes, to a sold-out crowd at Monty Hall in New Jersey on February 4th.

In an exclusive interview with MTV.com, Iero opened up about his recent trauma, and how its affected his take on his approach to life. “I have a hard time allowing myself to believe there is a higher power doing things behind the scenes, but I tend to think things do happen — even the shitty things — for some reason,” he says. “In time, I will feel more grounded. For now, I’m existing. That’s something, in that moment, that I didn’t know I would be doing.”

AMELIA CURRAN ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM

Lorna Shore’s ‘Flesh Coffin’

Formed in 2010, Lorna Shore consists of vocalist Tom Barber, guitarists Adam De Micco and Connor Deffley and drummer Austin Archey. David Luning “Gonna Forget About You”

David Luning was studying film scoring at the Berklee College of Music when he first heard the music of John Prine. As Luning recalls, “A couple of friends invited me over to share some songs at their apartment, and that was the first time I’d ever really listened to Americana music or folk or country or whatever you want to call it. They showed me John Prine, and it just resonated with me so much. I was like, ‘Oh my god, this is what I have to do with my life.’ I just figured it out in that moment.” He subsequently dropped out of school and took to the road as a troubadour, performing at open mics and eventually opening for Dave and Phil Alvin, Jackie Greene and other artists.

SLEEP’s “The Clarity” 12″ Receives Official Pressing Via Southern Lord

This February, Southern Lord will re-release SLEEP’s “The Clarity,” a special 12″ containing the first new song from the band in over two decades.

Initially released digitally as part of the Adult Swim Singles Program in 2014, “The Clarity” is the first new SLEEP track the band has released since their critically-adored, life-changing, 1998-issued Dopesmoker album. Afterward, the band issued a very limited run of the song on vinyl which was sold exclusively at their live shows and the band’s online store. Having been out-of-print in physical format ever since, Southern Lord will now re-release the mammoth track for official distribution.
