HIDDEN CHARMS NEW SINGLE

Hidden Charms have announced the forthcoming release of their new single Cannonball, with a fresh sound to carry them into a busy summer of festival appearances. The track, following on from their hugely successful 2015 single Love You Cause You’re There released on Deltasonic records, sees the band branch into new territory, having cut their teeth on touring the country’s best loved rock n’ roll venues for the last two years they’ve arrived at something totally unique. They have moved away from their traditional psychedelic style and waded into deeper waters, discordant guitar twangs tie together the visceral vocals. The single boasts signature elements of the Parisians’ productions – rising rhythms, pinching synths, grimey wubs and dangerous drops.

‘GOLDEN TICKET’ HIGHASAKITE

Opening Norwegian band Highasakite’s single “Golden Ticket,” vocalist Ingrid Helene Håvik sets a somber tone: “God if you’re still watching / There are no more happy days / God if you’re still watching / There’s no more celebration.” Though the sentiments are dark, her voice is simultaneously ethereal and booming, especially when paired with the five-piece’s indie pop synths and keys. Here, we’re pleased to premiere the track’s accompanying video, in which Håvik appears covered in gold glitter as well as in blacklight paint. When not focused on Håvik, flashes of light illuminate the silhouette of a modern dancer.

DECEPTIONIST NEW SINGLE

Initializing Irreversible Process is the impending new full-length from Rome, Italy’s DECEPTIONIST. Set for release via Unique Leader next month, Initializing Irreversible Process was captured with Giuseppe Orlando at Outersound Studios, and finds the devout death metal collective pushing their talents and ingenuity forward in both speed and technicality while simultaneously remaining loyal to our root elements: groove, brutality and catchiness. Their use of sampling blends seamlessly with harsh guitar riffs, the lyrical content dealing with the relationship between humans and machines in a not-too-distant future world where men and women will live only to serve artificial masters.

FONKYSON NEW TRACK

Montreal-based producer and DJ Fonkynson, has recently released his new track Aquarelle. The team at prominent music aggregator / tastemaker Indie Shuffle picked up the track and have fallen in love with the track.

“Fonkynson has managed to win me over twice, which is pretty solid. Where last time – on “Keep It Cool” – the vibe was more aligned with a house approach, “Aquarelle” sees the Montreal-based artist take a more standard French house approach. And I dig it.” – Jason Grishkoff, Indie Shuffle
