ALEX BLEEKER AND THE FREAKS’ ‘COUNTRY AGENDA’ NOW STREAMING

Country Agenda is the culmination of Bleeker’s solo work outside of his efforts with the band Real Estate. While the Freaks’ line up has organically changed over time, this release finds the band gelling into its most cohesive self with its most collaborative songwriting to date. Of the new music, Bleeker explains, “We’re extremely proud of this record. For the first time, the Freaks came together as a collaborative unit and crafted what we think is our best album yet. It was recorded on a hillside overlooking the ocean in coastal California and we hope that some of that beauty comes through in the music.” Country Agenda follows 2013’s How Far Away and the band’s 2009 self-titled debut album.

UPON SHADOWS ALBUM TEASER VIDEO

About the concept of the album :“Between the Southern Cross & the Northern Star” represents the deep connection with reality in its most natural way.Like it happens in the moment of the artistic creation, when a melody comes to our mind, and we can hear it without playing it yet; the inspiration sings the melodies to our mind… Is a reflection about the sometimes inpercptible reality, behind every act, and the analysis of the everyday and our own experiences. No matter what you see or believe to see, for example, even if the light in our eyes seems to have a single color, the reality speaks of something quite different. Reality exists with or without us. This album represents the need to move forward in understanding and free thought. Questioning everything and returning to the roots of philosophy, to develope in our personal journey toward deeper understanding.

SARANTOS VIDEO “YOU (JUST) DON’T HAVE IT”

Halloween often means a night to pretend you are someone else. Halloween can be a wonderful escape from reality. Who doesn’t love to impersonate and mislead once in a while? Masks allow one to be something they are not. Even Batman uses one!

In today’s world, teens and adults have a hard enough time trying to find their place in the world. Being true to oneself isn’t always encouraged at work, in love, in the media or sadly even in the real world. Perfection is not attainable yet it is a common illusion on full display in movies, TV shows and most media outlets. As this song lightheartedly points out though, perfection is not what everyone wants or desires. Why should they? The real world is full of imperfections and they are something all of us should accept and embrace. Being human means being imperfect.
