HECTOR FONSECA “STAR” REMIXES
He was the lead singer of No Authority who toured with Britney Spears, was discovered by Michael Jackson and signed to Michael’s label, then Madonna’s label. But what happens when the band falls apart and you’re left with nothing? And why did the industry tell him to hide a secret that they thought could have hurt his career at the time? Now, Ricky Rebel is back with a solo release, “The Blue Album”, mixed by Claudio Cueni (JLo) and featuring his “Star” single remixed by Billboard chart-topping DJs Hector Fonseca (Lady Gaga, Madonna, Beyonce, Sia, Katy Perry) and Casey Alva (Erika Jayne). Following the “Star” remix release on April 1, DJs in 15 countries are now playing him and Ricky was the #4 top-trending hashtag on Twitter*. And he’s not hiding the secret anymore: He’s proudly gay. And taking back his career, and his life, on his own terms.

AGORIA REMIXES “VERMILLION”
In his stirring remix of Damian Lazarus & The Ancient Moons’ “Vermillion,” Agoria focuses heavily on the vocals, propping them up with a deep, minimal inclined, backbone. The track throbs and grows in waves throughout it’s six and a half minute runtime and crescendos with soaring, bass heavy, synths. “I’m doing very few remixes at the moment, but when Damian sent me “Vermillion” just before Christmas I immediately fell in love with the vocals,” Agoria says. “I had no other choice but to cut my holiday short to make this remix. We exchanged a few tracks and ideas in the past but the timing never fit. I’m happy that we finally found the time to collaborate with each other.”
REDAIR “CHA CHA CHA”
Don’t get fooled by the title, “Cha Cha Cha” bears no relation to Cuban ballroom dancing or the late ’90s anthem from the now defunct Flipmode Squad. The collaborative efforts of the Chitown producer, Rediculus, and singer/songwriter, Airon Azure, unite under the moniker RedAir, and aim to add a new dimension to the windy city’s contemporary sound.
