MATOMA DROPS NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR SONG OF THE SUMMER
Norwegian music producer and pianist Matoma gives us a taste of summer with the music video for his viral hit “Old Thing Back” (iTunes). Directed by Jon J, the feel-good video was shot in Miami capturing Wynwood’s famous street art, Miami’s beautiful people, and Matoma himself, who opens up the video walking the Wynwood streets with an old-school boom box, attracting people along the way, ending in a sunset party.

The lean yet dynamic three-piece — now rounded out by bassist Jeff Latimer and drummer Scott Reid — find catharsis in their punk rock roots while continually pushing the limits of structure and ethos. Ditching the power-pop driven style of their early work, the band now draws from their early influences such as Black Flag and Screeching Weasel, while incorporating the experimental nature of bands like Fugazi, Mclusky, and Crime.

NEWMAN WOLF “SEALAND”
The song was crafted entirely out of youtube samples over the course of a few days in the summer of 2014. The production combines dark moods and lush textures, with drums and rhythms suited for the dance floor. The video was shot and directed by Wolf’s close friend and collaborator Ezra Ewen in Los Angeles, CA.
“We decided to use my grandmother’s house as the primary shooting location. The house means a lot to me—it’s where my father grew up, and where I spent all of my summers as a kid. I almost think of it as a member of the family. So when we shot it, we wanted the video to give life to the house, and all of the art and artifacts my family accumulated over the years. My aunt made most of the sculptures in the video, she and my dad collaborated to make the dancing light figure at the end in the 70’s.” -Newman Wolf

NIGHTRAGE, REVOLVER MAGAZINE LAUNCH “STARE INTO INFINITY” MUSIC VIDEO
“‘Stare into Infinity’ is one of my favorite songs on our new album The Puritan,” guitarist Marios Iliopoulos told Revolver. “It has all those elements that are Nightrage – heavy riffs, emotional melodies and brutal vocal hooks. The whole arrangement of the song is very simplistic and in your face. The verses are very thrashy with straightforward riffs and pounding drums, creating that feeling of power and metal mayhem. The chorus is where the song really lifts up with those signature Nightrage melodic guitars and big ’80s metal riffs played with a thrashy and more modern approach. And Ronnie´s vocals, singing with such a great passion and old school melodic death metal vibes, makes for a really cool contrast on that part.

GYPSY & THE CAT ANNOUNCE NEW SINGLE ‘CLIMB INTO THE MUSIC’
Gypsy & the Cat return today with their first official single in more than two years with the delirious swirl of ‘Climb Into The Music’. Adding to the news the song features none other than music jedi Paul Kelly. Gypsy and the Cat had written and produced all their own music to date but wanted to collaborate in the lead up to this recording and invited their musical icon into to the writing studio. Paul was a fan of the bands past material and accepted the invitation to write which then lead to his ubiquitous vocals staying on the final version of the song as the perfect counterpoint to those of Gypsy’s Xavier Bacash.
