SKOPE NEWS FOR MARCH 26, 2015

TAKTICZ “THIS AINT YOUR BLUNT BREHH”

Takticz releases “This Aint Your Blunt Brehh” from his upcoming Ep “Ahhh”. The song is a very different sound from last month’s “Mouth Full Of Shotty” featuring the Baegod Maryann. Like most of the music coming from the N-Crowd crew the production comes via Sbvce. The beat is drenched in 808’s, but this track has a different twist than most of his Bedroomtrap tracks.

UNDER PARIS “TOO FAR GONE”

Under Paris blends many elements of present day metalcore with the nostalgic, melodic songwriting of “golden age” Victory Records-era bands. The result is a catchy, heavy trip that satisfies from every angle. Vocalist Michael Alexander shows his excitement to see the band’s hard work over the past two years pay off by saying, “For the last two years we’ve all made sacrifices to keep pushing ourselves and the band to that next level and reach our goal of being signed, now that we’ve found a home with people who believe in us it’s time to make some new goals and keep pushing!”

SEAFRET NEW SINGLE

Seafret have been making serious waves so far this year with the release of their second EP in February, entitled ‘Oceans’, which earned them Radio 1 support, their second #1 spot on the Hype Machine chart and a flurry of ‘next big thing’ features both in print and online. The video for ‘Oceans’ featured Maisie Williams from Game Of Thrones and clocked up over half a million views on Vevo within hours of going live.

ANDRÉ OBIN TO RELEASE ‘ENDORPHIN’ + SINGLE

Dark synth technician André Obin will release his third full-length album, Endorphin on May 5 via Sky Council Recordings. The title track is available now for stream and sharing and Obin says, “Musically, it’s the brightest feeling cut on the album, but lyrically it concerns a disconnection between a person’s private and public life that fills the heart with anarchy. As the writer and producer, I am often torn in two different directions when I listen back to it.”

WASTELAND “MAPLE”

Following on from the previous release of ‘Bloom’, Fuze Records welcomes another Australian to the ranks. WasteLand has had a string of releases on CR2 records including his recent collaboration with Skyden called ‘Inca’. Last year was a big one for the Perth native, with remixes for Hook ’N’ Sling, TV Rock & Walden, Urban Cone and his heavily supported mix of Thomas Gold’s ‘Remember’.

WasteLand’s debut on Fuze Records marks a productive start to the year for him. ‘Maple’ begins with a staccato-string opening and quickly builds to an intense groove with brilliantly layered percussion. The track builds into a fever in the breakdown where the melodic chords have the smoothness of the syrup associated with it’s namesake. ‘Maple’ then grooves through the finish and brings the ride home in style.

EMEFE BIG, BOLD “COME BACK TO ME” PREMIERES ON IMPOSE

In 2009, Miles Arntzen started EMEFE with one purpose: to create an unparalleled live experience around his original music. Three weeks later, they played their first show to a ravenously packed house in New York City. Four years later, they had played countless venues across the country, opened for Passion Pit and Big Boi, and released studio albums that documented their live sound. In 2013, the band challenged themselves to create a studio record that surpassed their reputation as merely a great live act.

VINYETTE DROPS NEW SINGLE

“Just to Get Away” is inspired by the band’s decision to quit their jobs a year ago to hit the road on a four month journey that took them from the California coast to the underground clubs of Europe (including shows with Marky Ramone and Andrew W.K.). The group set down this track upon their return to NYC to capture that common experience of just needing to get away from it all.

THE THROUGH AND THROUGH GOSPEL REVIEW’S NEW SINGLE

A common theme in art, almost to the point of being completely played-out, is an artist’s conflict with traditional religious concepts. Some obvious, classic pop music examples might be Depeche Mode, Marilyn Manson, and Trent Reznor. While such blasphemous musical tirades are quite enjoyable, Through and Through Gospel Review’s Joel Marquard has a more subtle way of coming to terms with the faith of his youth.
