AVA LUNA SHARE “COAT OF SHELLAC” SINGLE
Ava Luna’s “Billz”, the first glimpse of their forthcoming album Infinite House, set the stage for the band’s unmistakable sonic alchemy but also helped to unearth, perhaps like never before, their astute lyrical ability. Steeped among the “spectral and metaphysical” singer Carlos Hernandez asks a question that we’ve all had to consider and he does so with such force that you can’t help but think: Who IS going to pay my bills?

MYSTERIES SHARE “NEWLY THROWN” VIDEO
Mysteries is revealing the video for “Newly Thrown” from their debut album New Age Music Is Here, out now via Felte. NEW ALBUM BY ROOMFUL OF TEETH
New Amsterdam Records is excited to announce Render, the sophomore album from the GRAMMY Award-winning vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth. Building on the widely acclaimed first album, which won the 2014 GRAMMY for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance and included Caroline Shaw’s Pulitzer Prize-winning Partita for 8 Voices, Render delights and surprises. The new album, which will be released on April 28, 2015, features compositions from Missy Mazzoli, William Brittelle, Wally Gunn, Brad Wells, Caleb Burhans, and Eric Dudley.
The new collection of works is consistently, unstintingly gorgeous, inviting listeners into an unimaginably varied sound world, all while showcasing Roomful of Teeth’s trademark virtuosity. Render could be considered a companion to the group’s first record – it features the same singers, engineer, cover artist, and some of the same composers as the first, and it includes a remarkable multi-movement work spread across the album – but this second record is very much in a class of its own.

MALL WALK “CRIMINAL CODE” PREMIERES ON CLASH MUSIC
Last October, Oakland trio MALL WALK released its eponymous debut EP, five briskly minimal tracks that foregrounded the bass and drum contributions of Daniel Brown and Nicholas Clark, respectively, and nodded to punk and post-punk precedents. Alternately infectious and gritty, spare and expansive, the EP introduced a band both compulsively listenable and exceptionally sophisticated. It was released on cassette tape through singer/guitarist Rob I. Miller’s Vacant Stare Records and engineered by Monte Vallier (Weekend, The Soft Moon, Terry Malts). Impose Magazine said the EP, “deserves to be heard by everyone fed up with the contrived, plastic, retail peddled manufacturing of existences and ennui of reality.” The Bay Bridged wrote, “Mall Walk sucks you into lo-fi squealing guitars paired with vocals that sound emotionally removed and hinge on apathy.”

MOE BANDY SIGNS WITH BATTLE ARTIST AGENCY FOR BOOKING REPRESENTATION
For over four decades, fans have come to depend upon Moe Bandy for their traditional country fix, and the singer is set to provide that trademark honky-tonk sound in concert throughout 2015. Today, the singer announces a new booking agreement with Battle Artist Agency, joining a list of artists that includes The Bellamy Brothers, Williams & Ree, Eddy Raven, Mickey Gilley, Earl Thomas Conley, and Gene Watson.
“Since we first hit with ‘I Just Started Hatin’ Cheatin Songs Today,’ the fans have been one of the most important aspects of my career,” says Bandy. “Getting back out on the road and taking their kind of country to them is what I’ve always been about, and I’m glad to be working with Battle Artist Agency in that endeavor. Rob Battle is one of the greats at what he does, so we are looking forward to letting him do what he does so well, so we can do what we do.”
SPARROW THE MOVEMENT “AMAZING”
Produced by Switzerland’s best kept secret, SWC (Supreme War Clique), “Amazing” odes to a day when simply beats and rhymes were hip-hop’s general protocol. SWC lays down a proverbial canvas that literally fights with itself. It moves with such Grace that although it feels slow and melodic the BPM is in the upper eighties. The instrumentation and drum programming make this track a smooth and attractive calamity; executed perfectly. It’s Amazing. And Fla-Fla adds to this clement rasping with Christ-inspired lyrics such as: “That I’m the child of a Father so awesome makes sense like the Asian kids who made my Jordan’s; my portion is on display, on this day, because His pay, forced His grace, to forge my way.”
MERK FEAT MR MAGIC NEW VIDEO
You can’t be a fan of New Orleans music without being familiar with Mr Magic; a man who left his mark for the 9th Ward on both No Limit and Koch in the early 2000’s. His passing, along with his wife’s in March of 2013 in a tragic car accident, left a giant hole in the Crescent City’s rap music scene but his influence is still being reflected by Nola artists to this day. With a major nod to this most cherished of forbears, Merk The Lyrical Tantrum, so named for his signature rasp and rapid-fire lyrical outbursts, releases the visual to his latest, “I Do It 4 Da 9” ft. Mr Magic himself. A veritible travelogue of New Orleans’ 9th Ward, “I Do It 4 Da 9” incorporates everything that is best about this great city, from the bouncy ass Beat Doctor track to Merk’s speaker-splitting delivery. Nothing about this video doesn’t scream bounce and it doesn’t matter if you’re a big ol’ booty or the trunk of a candy-painted slab. This song is already a classic in the 9th Ward so if you’re not exhausted by the time this video is over, you are definitely watching it all wrong.

JOIS AUDINO “THE GRAY”
MDK Records front man Jois Audino is firing hard for 2015 with his storming single release ‘The Gray’ – which is out now on his own stamp. True to form for Jois – this latest serving is a solid rage of machine Techno that’ll stand up tall next his long and winding discography of malicious productions. With supports and chart slots already steaming in – it’s looking like another winning formula from a producer that means business.

BIG HARP SHARES NEW SINGLE “IT’S A SHAME” VIA SPIN
“It’s a Shame” serves as a transition between 2013’s Chain Letters and the band’s upcoming full-length album, currently in production with John Congleton (St. Vincent, Modest Mouse, Rogue Wave, David Byrne) and due out later this year. Following their pattern of album-to-album reinvention, their new material further branches out from their past albums, taking the best elements of their first two records, and adding some ‘60s psych and a bit of ‘80s mega-pop, creating a vibrant new sound that bursts through genre limitations. The band has uncovered a unique, original voice, which is exemplified in their latest bittersweet, power-pop track, “It’s a Shame!”
