USA based progressive rock and metal band Odin’s Court’s eagerly awaited 5th album Turtles All the Way Down will hit the streets on March 3, 2015. After releasing four diverse albums on ProgRock Records internationally, Odin’s Court will release their latest album independently through their own label D2C Studios.
Band leader Matt Brookins commented on the latest album: “On Turtles All the Way Down, our sound is refined with a balance of modern and classic vibes, while still retaining the signature ‘Odin’s Court’ sound. We also have the ‘missing piece’ that completes us – a new vocalist that can bring the emotion and technicality to the music that it deserves. Dimetrius LaFavors’ vocals, combined with the more mature song writing and production, have taken us to the next level.” The artwork was done by French painter J.P. Fournier.

THERAPY? NEW STUDIO ALBUM ON AMAZING RECORD CO.
Out 23rd March, Therapy?’s first recording for new label Amazing Record Co., Disquiet comprises 11 tracks of charged, in-your-face, bruisingly melodic punk/metal. A sequel of sorts to the band’s million-selling 1994 album Troublegum, it is by turns confrontational, challenging, vengeful and venomous, a visceral and utterly compelling document of a confident band operating at the peak of their powers. Produced by Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood/Band of Skulls/Turbowolf) at Blast studios in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, it’s both the most accessible record Therapy? have made in two decades, and a reaffirmation of their healthy respect for noise, chaos and unsettling psychodrama.
“We wanted to write something a bit more anthemic again,” explains vocalist/guitarist Cairns. “In May last year we did a 20th anniversary tour for the Troublegum album, and it was completely sold out, and it was great hearing those songs sung back at us, and seeing what they meant to people. Clearly it would be idiocy for us to attempt to recreate Troublegum, because that was a different era, and a different band line-up, but the starting point for this album for me was thinking ‘What would the protagonist of Troublegum be doing twenty years on?’ Our last two albums [2009’s Crooked Timber and 2012’s A Brief Crack of Light] were more experimental and diverse, and we already knew that he wanted to go back to more ‘song’-based stuff this time around, so that conceptual idea dovetailed perfectly with what we planned in terms of the musical direction.”

It’s 16 years since their last album as a four-piece and April 28 sees the release of a brand new album from blur on Warner Bros., titled The Magic Whip.
The recordings, which began during a five-day break in touring in Spring 2013 – at Avon Studios in Kowloon, Hong Kong – were put aside when the group finished touring and returned to their respective lives.
Last November, Graham Coxon revisited the tracks and, drafting in blur’s early producer Stephen Street, he worked with the band on the material. Albarn then added lyrics and the 12 tracks of The Magic Whip are the result.

JULIET SIMMS IS BACK
“All or Nothing speaks volumes about who I am as a person… that I am a survivor, that I’m not gonna give up, I’m not gonna stop…. Wait, that’s Destiny’s Child,” laughs rocker JULIET SIMMS about her new self-released EP. In a lot of ways, this child’s destiny is not only as a music industry survivor but also as a testament that when you have that creative spirit and fire, you really can’t be stopped. “In all honesty, the EP represents strength, perseverance, never backing down and owning who you are and never being afraid to voice it at the top of your lungs.”
For Juliet, All or Nothing’s six tracks signal that the music industry rollercoaster that she’s been riding might finally be leveling out on the upswing. Birthed via a very successful PledgeMusic campaign that raised far above its original goal and was released just last week, the EP impressively landed at #1 on Billboard’s New Alternative Artist and #4 on Top New Artist charts.

The song conjures up images of endless summer roadtrips with its silky-smooth vocals, and at its heart longs for a time when one lived in the moment, carefree with no responsibilities or concerns.

JACKSON SCOTT SHARES NEW SINGLE VIA THE FADER
If ever a mission statement was made clear, North Carolina’s sonic spaceman Jackson Scott couldn’t have been plainer about the direction his new album would take; “Going to make another record now,” read the text on his blog. “Will be influenced by Nas’ Illmatic. WIRE STREAM “JOUST & JOSTLE” AT NOISEY
Right from their inception in 1976, back in the first stirrings of punk, Wire went about making music in a subversive, conceptual way, setting themselves apart from both their peers and their influences.
“I had this idea that I wanted to avoid things that had a particular kind of tradition,” explains singer and guitarist Colin Newman. “I thought the three-chord trick was too simplistic and that the one-chord trick would be better. Or the two chord trick where the second chord is definitely not the right chord.”
