Raised in Vegas, one would expect a flashy flow and cocky demeanor from Funk Volume rapper Dizzy Wright, especially as the nephew of legendary Bone Thugs-n-Harmony emcee Layzie Bone. Far from this, the esteemed Sin City emcee shows his gratitude and takes time to reflect on his accomplishment in “Reunite for The Night” produced by Roc n Mayne, from Dizzy’s recently released State of Mind EP. In the track, the lyrics affirm implication of an ode in recognition to all those who have supported him. Under the Electric Sky is an immersive 3D documentary exploring the allure of the EDM phenomenon told through the experiences of six different groups among the nearly 350,000 festivalgoers attending the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) 2013 in Las Vegas. Combining those personal stories along with performances by Fatboy Slim, Kaskade, Dillon Francis, Afrojack, Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buren, Avicii, and Tiësto, directors Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz bring the event to life by going behind the scenes to show what it takes to stage one of the biggest parties in the known universe. They chronicle the unique journeys of individual attendees from different walks of life, all of whom share one common desire — to shed their inhibitions and immerse themselves in this judgment-free celebration of life and music. DAVE MATTHEWS BAND RETURNS TO WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
On June 17, Bama Rags/RCA/Legacy Recordings will reissue Dave Matthews Band’s Remember Two Things. Originally released on November 9, 1993, Remember Two Things soon became a bona-fide word-of-mouth sensation and remains the first and best introduction to the DMB sound. It was the first official release on the group’s own Bama Rags label.
Available on vinyl for the first time ever, the two-LP, 180-gram deluxe audiophile release will be cut from new lacquers, prepared by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman Mastering. The vinyl release will feature the original album packaged in an individually numbered gatefold jacket and include a new eight-page booklet with full lyrics and rare and previously unpublished photos of the band. A download card will feature the full album plus two previously unreleased bonus tracks: early studio versions of “Pay For What You Get” and “Typical Situation,” newly mastered by original album engineer David Glasser. Remember Two Things will also be available as a new CD and digital LP reissue and will feature the original album as well as both bonus tracks.
