The Los Angeles-based company also appeared on Billboard.biz Bulletin’s list of 10 most interesting startups of 2012 and received the midemlab award in direct to consumer sales & content monetization at midem 2013, held in Cannes, France earlier this month.
Yesterday on Stageit, YouTube sensations Walk off the Earth performed live from their living room and fielded questions from viewers, who were able to purchase tickets on a “Pay What You Can” basis. It was a milestone show for independent artists as it demonstrates that real money can be made for nearly zero cost, 30 minutes of an artist’s time and a computer.
