Alex Vans will celebrate the power of live music with his upcoming tour. The tour, supporting the release of DJ Booth, out Jan. 8, will hit east coast venues starting Jan. 9. Vans will be playing with his live band, The Hideaway for the tour, which makes its final stop of eleven at the IOTA Club in Arlington for a hometown album release party on Feb. 1. DJ Booth shows the enduring value of live music; it contains all the energy of Vans’ live show and the chops from constant touring.
DJ Booth–even the title is a jab at the declining value of live music and the capricious heart of popular culture–celebrates the musical diversity of artists like Bob Mould and The Walkmen, all tied together by Vans’ lyrical wit, cynicism and indie rock arrangements ranging from organic roots rockers to dance-hall ready anthems.
