ALEJANDRO ESCOVEDO CELEBRATES THREE DECADES OF MUSIC MAKING

Texas musical treasure, Alejandro Escovedo, will chronicle his impressive 35-year artistic odyssey with a special multi-media concert on Saturday, December 29th, 2012 at Austin’s Moody Theater as part of Austin City Limits Live. This unique event, led by musical director Charlie Sexton, will showcase Escovedo’s legendary career brought to life through storytelling & song ? expect a multi-sensory, immersive experience with musical performances by an array of special guests including Joe Ely, Rosie Flores, Jon Dee Graham, Amy Cook, Patricia Vonne and Stephen Barber.

Escovedo will perform with his four-piece band, The Sensitive Boys ? Ricky Ray Jackson, guitar; Chris Searles, drums and Bobby Daniel, bass; and the lineup will be augmented with Mike Flanigin on Hammond B3; a horn section of Ephraim Owens and Elias Haslanger; a string section led by Susan Voelz on violin and Brian Standefer on cello and backup vocalists Gina Holton and Karla Manzur. In addition, Escovedo has invited select members of local children’s choirs from Khabele School and Barton Springs Elementary School to join him on stage.
