Emmanuel Jal has won worldwide acclaim for his unique style of hip hop with its message of peace and reconciliation born out of his experiences as a child soldier in Sudan. In his ongoing campaign as a Peace Soldier he has organized rallies around the world to support WE WANT PEACE. These have been in the plans for a while, but with recent headlines reminding us all of the on going violence in his home country of South Sudan and July 9, marking Independence day, they are also very timely.[youtube oOEp1be2cHI]
“We want peace is a movement of like-mind people who want to make this world a better place; it’s a place where we to lead the change we would love to see. I am very passionate about education as a way for shaping a better future and to create Peace,” Emmanuel said. “What do I mean by peace? Peace is justice equality and freedom for all. Peace is when my belly is full. Peace is when conflicts are managed in a mature manner so violence is prevented”.
