Entrepreneur, artist and musician Shane Sweet and his band Sandbox are embarking on a tour to support their new album “Me and Him and Horse” (BrainMuscleMedia), set for a March 27, 2012 release..
Shane explains, “Our traveling band is seven people deep and we play songs from both ‘Me & Him and Horse,’ as well as songs from our first full length record, ‘Songs for Friends, Family and the Times.’ Touring is great because as a performer it’s really freeing to play in front of strangers. There’s no preconceived notion of who you are or are supposed to be, so you really have the opportunity to be free to surprise yourself and your fellow performers and the audience.
Shane and Sandbox also regularly do Art Installations in his warehouse in downtown LA. The newest one is called “The Speakeasy,” to coincide with the new album. “Compared to the Art Installations, playing our songs from the album live is such a naked experience. That really adds to the freedom to perform that can only be found on tour.”
