P!NK WELCOMES A BABY GIRL!

P!nk gave birth to a baby girl on Thursday evening.   She took to Twitter around 11 PM Eastern to announce that she and husband Carey Hart welcomed Willow Sage Hart to the world.   P!nk said “she’s gorgeous, just like her daddy.”  

THE OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT VIA TWITTER: P!nk’s tweet: “We are ecstatic to welcome our new beautiful healthy happy baby girl, Willow Sage Hart. She’s gorgeous, just like her daddy. #beyondblessed.”

LADY GAGA TO DUET WITH TONY BENNETT

Lady Gaga has just received a pretty cool honor.   According to GagaDaily.com, the pop star has been asked to sing a song with legendary crooner Tony Bennett on his forthcoming Duets II album which is due in September.   No word yet on which Bennett classic the two will collaborate on.

LMFAO SHUFFLE TO TOP TEN ON HOT 100 CHART

LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem” shuffles up 12 spots to number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week.   The video for the track has been viewed over 57-million times online.   The duo will release their highly anticipated album Sorry For Party Rocking on June 21st.   It features will.i.am, Busta Rhymes and more.   LMFAO will perform “Party Rock Anthem” on Lopez Tonight.  

THE BAND PERRY THANK THE FANS

The Band Perry has scored a hit with “If I Die Young.”   The country group is comprised of siblings Kimberly Perry, Neil Perry and Reid Perry.   Kimberly told us they are grateful for all the support they get from their fans (Related Cut #5).       The Band Perry is currently out on the road with Tim McGraw.   They play Fresno, California on Thursday night.

JESSICA AND ASHLEE SIMPSON’S NEW CLOTHING LINE

Jessica and Ashlee Simpson are working on a “Tween” clothing line under the Jessica Simpson Collection label.   According to People, the collection will include sportswear, denim and active wear and is set to hit stores this fall. The sisters will serve as the collection’s co-creative directors.

Jessica Simpson released the following statement: “Creating a tween apparel collection was a natural extension for the brand. I’m excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today’s tweens.”

Ashlee released the following statement: “My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion.”

JOE JONAS DROPS DEBUT SOLO SINGLE

Joe Jonas has released his first single, “See No More.” The song was co-written with Chris Brown and tells the story of a man dealing with a broken relationship. “See No More” will be available for download on iTunes beginning June 13th.   Jonas’ debut solo album will be released on September 6th.

CAN ONEREPUBLIC TELL THE FUTURE?

Can the members of OneRepublic tell the future?   Most likely not, but that doesn’t mean they’re not capable of making very good educated guesses.   Take band frontman Ryan Tedder for example, who told us a while back that the band’s song “Good Life” was going to be the biggest tune on their album Waking Up (See Related Cut #6).   Turns out Ryan was exactly right with his prediction.   In fact, the song was just remixed with by rapper B.o.B, and you can check it out now at OneRepublic.net.

CHRIS BROWN’S “LOOK AT ME NOW” IS DOUBLE PLATINUM

Chris Brown recently tweeted that his hit single, “Look At Me Now” featuring Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne, has gone double platinum. The singer told us that it seems like good things always happen whenever he teams up with Weezy (See Related Cut #7). The song if lifted from C Breezy’s latest F.A.M.E album, which is available in stores now.

TWEET: Chris wrote, “Look at me now is double platinum thx to all my fans.”

DR DRE’S DETOX IS ALMOST DONE?

Apparently, the wait is almost over for the album everyone is dying to hear: Detox. DJ Khalil recently told Billboard.com that Dr Dre’s is hard at work on the project saying the disc is “definitely the most important thing right now, because he is definitely in the final stretch.” The hitmaker adds, “He has the record going, but I’m sure he thinks there are pieces missing still. Until he finds those pieces, maybe he’s not comfortable putting it out yet.”

KANYE WORKING ON FASHION LINE

Kanye West is looking to make a profit off of his love for fashion. A source tells U-K’s The Telegraph that Yeezy is planning to launch a clothing line in Paris that will cater to both women and men. There’s no word on when high-end line will be released to the public.

UPDATE ON SEAN KINGSTON

According to TMZ, Sean Kingston is making great progress following his recent Jet Ski accident in Miami. After being in critical condition inside the trauma ward at a local hospital, a source spills that the singer is more alert and is communicating through nods and sign language. In addition, he has frequent visits from friends and family. The update comes after CNN reported that the “Beautiful Girls” singer will need up to six weeks to make a full recovery.

BONO HITCHES A LIFT

Bono may be one of the richest men in rock n’ roll, but sometimes we all just need to hitch a lift. According to The Edmonton Journal, the U2 singer got caught in a rain storm with his assistant in Vancouver recently and was picked up by NHL hockey player Gilbert Brule and his girlfriend. Bono thanked the athlete with tickets to their show and backstage passes.

GWEN AND GAVIN’S SON BREAKS ARM

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale had a pretty scary experience late last week.   According to gossip rag the National Enquirer, the couple’s younger son, Zuma, had to be rushed to the hospital after he fell off a countertop in their Beverly Hill home, which resulted in a broken arm.   Apparently the two-year-old had to have a pin placed in his wrist, but an insider reveals that he “is now back home and on the mend.”

WINEHOUSE OUT OF REHAB

Amy Winehouse is out of rehab.   According to the Associated Press, late last week, a rep for the embattled singer said that Winehouse “checked out” of a London treatment facility and is “raring to go” on her European tour.   Apparently she’ll still attend the clinic from time to time, but only as an outpatient.

BORN THIS WAY TO BE NUMBER ONE AGAIN

Lady Gaga’s latest album Born This Way sold 1.1-million copies in its first week in the U-S and is showing no signs of slowing down.   According to Nielsen SoundScan, the pop star is almost certain to spend yet another week on the top of the Billboard 200 chart as early estimates are saying that she’s going to sell at least another 200-thousand copies, a good enough figure to remain at number one.

PHARRELL TO BE HONORED FOR ANIMATED FILM

We’ve just learned Pharrell Williams is expected to receive a prestigious award during the 26th Annual ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards. The famed producer will be honored with the coveted ASCAP Film Music Award for creating the score to the animated film, Despicable Me.   The upcoming event takes place June 23rd at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, California.
