GAGA PERFORMING ON LETTERMAN ON MONDAY

It was just announced that Lady Gaga will be celebrating the release of her new album, Born This Way, on Monday by performing on The Late Show with David Letterman that evening.   Meanwhile, Hits Daily Double reports that also on Monday, Gaga will be shipping two-million copies of her album to different retail outlets, something that’s almost unheard of in this age of digital downloads.

LADY GAGA TOOK OVER METRO

According to Billboard, earlier this week, Lady Gaga took over as a guest editor at the London headquarters of the global free newspaper network Metro. Gaga took charge of the morning editorial meeting, offering her opinions on a range of topics from bullying to the Japanese earthquake. Lady Gaga’s second full-length studio album, Born This Way, will be released on Monday.

BRUNO MARS AND ADELE TOP U-K CHARTS

Bruno Mars’ latest single, “The Lazy Song,” is on top of the U-K singles chart, ending the four-week reign of LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem.”   Meanwhile, Adele’s 21 tops the album chart for the 15th week, 12 of which were consecutive.

BEYONCE GETS PREMIERE DATE FOR VIDEO

According to her official website, Beyonce plans to premiere the visual for her new single, “Run the World (Girls),” on American Idol. The diva will unleash the video tonight (5/18) at 8 PM Eastern on FOX. The news comes as the clip was delayed from being released last week on Vevo.

MATTHEW MORRISON TO JOIN NKOTBSB TOUR!

Glee’s Matthew Morrison will join the New Kids on the Block and the Backstreet Boys for the NKOTBSB Tour this summer.   Morrison’s self-titled debut album is available now. It features the single “Summer Rain,” as well as “Still Got Tonight,” co-written by American Idol-winner Kris Allen.   It also boasts duets with Sting, Sir Elton John and Gwyneth Paltrow.   Morrison will join the NKOTBSB Tour in Anaheim on July 6th.   Head to MatthewMorrison.com or NKOTBSB.com for more info.    

SHONTELLE SHOOTS VIDEO FOR “SAY HELLO TO GOODBYE”

Shontelle has a new single titled “Say Hello To Goodbye.”   It is the fourth single peeled off her No Gravity album.   The 25-year-old singer and songwriter recently shot a video for the song at a Hoboken, New Jersey train station.

NICKI MINAJ DROPS DIDDY AS MANAGER

According to XXLMag.com, a source close to Nicki Minaj has revealed that she is no longer under management with Diddy and James Cruz. Apparently, the Young Money princess initially thought Puff would have a more active involvement with her career. The source spilled that the decision was amicable and no hard feeling linger between the mogul and the fem-cee, who is now being managed by Hip-Hop Since 1978.

NICKI MINAJ “SUPERSTAR OF THE WEEK” ON ABDC

The music of Nicki Minaj will be featured on this week’s episode of Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew as they continue the season of the “Superstars.”   Watch the remaining five crews dance to the rapper’s biggest hits, including “Moment 4 Life” and “Did It On Em,” tomorrow night (5/19) at 10 PM Eastern only on MTV.

MARIAH INSPIRED BY TWIN, PREPS NEW ALBUM

Nick Cannon can’t stop talking about the mother of his twins, Mariah Carey. The comedian told Rap-Up.com that the singer has already begun working on the follow-up to 2009’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel. Cannon said Mi Mi is “truly inspired” by motherhood and has “already been doing some preliminary work and meeting with a lot of producers and has tons of ideas.” In the meantime, Carey is focused on contributing to FOX’s The X Factor, which will premiere later this fall.  

NEW DETAILS ON B.O.B’S NEXT ALBUM

According to Rap-Up.com, Jim Jonsin has spilled new details surrounding B.o.B’s forthcoming sophomore effort. The producer, who is responsible for “Nothin’ on You,” said that the lead single could be a song called “Rule the World.” Jonsin added, “We cut four songs and there’s two that I really like. One record has like a reggae vibe to it, hip-hop with some reggae. It’s pretty big.” As for the direction of the disc, the hitmaker admits the Grand Hustle artist is still “figuring it out” and doesn’t plan to have as many features as his debut effort, The Adventures of Bobby Ray.

30 SECONDS TO MARS TALK MTV UNPLUGGED

30 Seconds to Mars recently landed in New York City to record their first ever MTV Unplugged. Singer Jared Leto was thrilled to get the chance to be part of the series (See Related Cut #10). 30 Seconds to Mars performed “Kings and Queens,” “Night of the Hunter,” “Closer to the Edge” and a cover of U2’s “Where the Streets Have No Name” with a gospel choir for their Unplugged. We’ll let you know when and where you can see it.

JOHN MAYER AND RENEE ZELLWEGER DATING?

It couldn’t possibly be true, right?   According to gossip paper The Globe, John Mayer and Renee Zellweger have been “quietly” going out on a number of dates in both New York and Los Angeles.   But apparently, the two aren’t getting into anything serious, as a source told the paper that Renee is just “looking for a good time with a hot guy.”   We’ll keep you posted.

MADONNA ON OPRAH’S LAST SHOW?

Could Madonna be appearing on Oprah Winfrey’s last show?   Well according to PerezHilton.com, Madge, as well as Beyonce, were both seen in Chicago on Tuesday and sources say that it’s because they are taking part in the talk show legend’s final episode.   No word on if they’re being interviewed, performing, or both, but we’ll keep you posted as we learn more.   Oprah’s last show is set to air on May 25th.

MINDLESS BEHAVIOR ANNOUNCE NEW TOUR

We’ve just learned Mindless Behavior have announced that they will headline the upcoming No ID Tour, which also includes Young Money’s Tyga and Lil Twist. The trek kicks off in Los Angeles on July 7th and ends on August 6th in Atlanta.   For fans who want to score passes, tickets for the tour go on sale on Friday.

COLDPLAY AND CEE-LO HEAD TO ACL

Fans headed to this year’s Austin City Limits Music Festival will get the chance to see Stevie Wonder, Arcade Fire, Coldplay, My Morning Jacket and more take the stage. The annual event takes place at Zilker Park from September 16th through the 18th. Other acts on the bill include Cee Lo Green, Bright Eyes, Social Distortion and more.
