Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have been pals for a while, but rumors that the teen stars are more than friends ramped up when the two were spotted getting pancakes arm-in-arm. Gomez denied there were any romantic overtones to the outing, saying instead that they were just getting a quick bite eat while they both had some free time in Philadelphia. She told MTV News that it was an innocent gathering and that she looks at Bieber more like a “brother than a lover.”
BEP TOP U-K CHARTS
The Black Eyed Peas scored a fifth chart-topping single in the U-K, climbing five spots to number one with “The Time (Dirty Bit).” The Peas’ new album, The Beginning, also climbed eight notches to number nine. Take That’s Progress, which is the first album to feature Robbie Williams since 1995, is now the best-selling record of 2010 in the U-K. According to the Official Charts Company, the album sold over 200-thousand copies last week and surpassed Lady Gaga’s The Fame as the top-selling album of the year.
MJ FANS LAUNCH PETITION TO KEEP DISCOVERY SPECIAL FROM AIRING
Michael Jackson’s fans have launched a petition to keep the Discovery Channel from airing Michael Jackson’s Autopsy: What Really Killed Michael Jackson next month in the U-K. According to Billboard, the MJ Justice Project and MJ Children group has received well over one-thousand signatures so far, short of its goal of 50-thousand to keep what is being described as a gruesome reenactment off the air. Jackson’s posthumous album, Michael, is in stores now.
MIRANDA COSGROVE ANNOUNCES DANCING CRAZY TOUR
Miranda Cosgrove will kick off her Dancing Crazy Tour at the Uptown Theater in Kansas City, Missouri on January 24th. The 17-year old actress and singer is best known for her lead role on Nickelodeon’s Emmy-nominated hit show iCarly. In April, she released her debut album, Sparks Fly, which spawned the hit “Kissing U.” Cosgrove will release her new single, “Dancing Crazy,” via iTunes on December 21st. She is also gearing up to release an EP in March. YouTube sensation Grayson Chance will open for Cosgrove on the Dancing Crazy Tour, which wraps on February 24th in Anaheim, California.
BUBLE TALKS PRESS, MILEY
Michael Buble is a little nervous about the press that will be surrounding his wedding next year to Argentine actress Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre. The New York Daily News caught up with the crooner on a recent red carpet, where he said that “not all press is good press,” and if anyone questions that, they should “just ask Miley Cyrus,” of course referring to the video recently posted online of the teen star smoking out of a bong.
TAIO CRUZ TO COVER JOHN LENNON ON NEW YEAR’S ROCKIN’ EVE
Taio Cruz will cover John Lennon’s “Imagine” on Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2011. Taio’s rendition of “Imagine” will be available exclusively on iTunes from January 1st through the 31st, with proceeds benefitting Big Brothers Big Sisters. Cruz will also perform a medley of brand-new single “Higher” and his hit “Dynamite.” “Higher,” featuring Travie McCoy, is available now. The track’s Alex Herron-directed video will debut on Vevo on December 22nd.
THE SCRIPT TALK SUCCESS
The Script have already had great success with their debut self-titled album in both Europe and the U-S, but drummer Glen Power told BangShowbiz.com that the Irish rockers didn’t feel like they really made it until their current album, Science & Faith, went to number one in the U-K. Power called it “validation” for all their hard work and that it’s a “beautiful thing.” Science & Faith will hit shelves in the states next month.
FERGIE LIKES HIGH HEELS
Fergie is talking all about her choice in footwear. The Black Eyed Peas’ lead singer told Extra TV that she loves to wear tall shoes because her husband, Josh Duhamel, is so much taller than her. She added that she read an article in a magazine calling her a “midget” while standing next to her actor beau, so she tries to “wear heels” whenever possible.
MADONNA BANNED FROM CNN?
When Piers Morgan takes over for Larry King in January, don’t expect Madonna to appear on the talk show. According to Billboard, Morgan is quoted as saying, “She is too vegan for TV. We have Lady Gaga now so Madonna is banned from my show.” He added that he’d prefer to interview President Barack Obama, Mel Gibson, Lindsay Lohan or “whoever is in the news who is relevant and current.” Madonna isn’t too upset by the statement. Her rep told AOL’s Popeater that she doesn’t know who Piers Morgan is, but she is a big fan of Lady Gaga.
COLDPLAY WORK ON CONCEPT ALBUM
Chris Martin is finally talking about the upcoming Coldplay album. The frontman told the BBC that the record is a “concept album but it’s supposed to be very personal within a big framework.” So what is the basic concept? Martin gave us a little insight saying it deals with “two like-minded outsiders who meet in a very difficult environment and therefore have a journey together.” The group is working on the follow-up to 2008’s Viva La Vida with producers Brian Eno and Marcus Dravs.

GRAMMY Charity Online Auctions is offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience to see Coldplay and Jay-Z as they help ring in 2011 in Las Vegas. According to Billboard.com, Antoine Dodson’s “Bed Intruder Song” has just been named the top YouTube video of the year. The clip reportedly received over 61-million views and even surpassed the parody video of Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok” and 13-year-old Greyson Chance’s cover of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi.” Dodson said in a statement to The Associated Press, “Blessings come in disguise.”

Bey dished out two-million dollars on a brand new Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, which is the fastest vehicle in the world. JA RULE FACES JAIL TIME
If you thought we’d reach 2011 without another rapper being sentenced to prison, you were sadly mistaken. We’ve just learned Ja Rule has pled guilty to a 2007 felony weapons possession charge. He entered a plea agreement that will only require him to serve two years in jail. While he remains free, Ja tweeted that the situation is only “a minor setback for a major comeback.” It’s still unknown when he’s expected to begin his sentence.
50 CENT REACTS TO JA RULE’S SENTENCE
Never the one to keep quiet, 50 Cent capitalized on the chance to further humiliate Ja Rule for entering a plea bargain. Fif tweeted, “Damn da homie Ja Rule gotta do two years. Tell him I said don’t worry I got him when he come home. Yo word to my mother if anybody knock jah out and f**k him in jail it’s gonna be on.” He further joked, “I’m crazy as f**’k so don’t mess with my little homie jah. Lol. I’m well connected, I’m a say it again. I’m well connected don’t f**k with my little homie.” The taunting prompted Rule to respond by threatening to smack 50 “again” if he didn’t shout his mouth. The mogul fired back with, “I don’t wish jail on nobody stay strong you little punk…We ain’t gonna forget about you little man. Come on its only 721 days stop crying. It’s only 104 weeks. Wipe ya nose sucka. Be a man!!!!! Lol.” Ouch!

The 2011 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees won’t be announced until tomorrow morning, but HitsDailyDouble.com is already reporting who will be honored at the January ceremony. According to the site, Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond, Tom Waits, Dr. John and Darlene Love are this year’s crop. Nothing is official but if the site is right, nominees like Bon Jovi, the J Geils Band and Donovan will have been snubbed.
