KANYE GETS 5 MICS FROM THE SOURCE

We’ve just learned Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy has received the highest ranking from The Source magazine. The “Power” rapper claimed five mics for his project, which sits at the number one spot on the Billboard 200 chart. You can check out the full review of the disc in the December/January issue when it hits newsstands December 14th.

TAYLOR SWIFT WITH SOME DATING ADVICE

Taylor Swift’s personal life is always in the news, so perhaps it’s fitting that the crossover star has some advice for everyone out there.   She told Seventeen magazine that, “If you cry over a guy, then your friends CAN’T date him. It can’t even be considered.”   So there you have it.

SWIFT NAMED ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR

Taylor Swift is Entertainment Weekly’s youngest-ever Entertainer of the Year. In the latest issue of EW, Taylor talks about the buzz surrounding the alleged subjects of her most recent songs on the Speak Now album saying, “The fact is I haven’t ever confirmed that any song is about any particular person.” She also told the magazine the story behind her performance of “Innocent” at the MTV Video Music Awards this year, a song that is rumored to be about Kanye West, explaining, “I had decided that I didn’t want to perform on the show. Or even go. MADONNA’S NEW GYM MAY BE CLOSING ALREADY

Madonna’s new Hard Candy Fitness Center in Mexico City hasn’t even been open a week, and yet it already may be in danger of being shut down.   According to the Associated Press, local authorities say that the club “lacks a security plan and a land use permit” and they only have until sometime today to get one.   We’ll keep you posted.

LADY A’S HILLARY SCOTT STAYS HUSH ON WEDDING

Hillary Scott of Lady Antebellum isn’t engaged, but she told Nashville’s WSIX radio that she won’t spill the beans on wedding details when she does tie the knot. Hillary is currently dating an artist by the name of Chris Tyrrell and went on to say that marriage and a wedding are very personal and she plans to keep those details private. Charles Kelley of the group has been married for almost two years and has some advice for men who are engaged. He says to spend your days golfing and then come home and let your fiancée tell you all the plans she has and agree with all of them.

DRAKE TO HOST CANADA’S JUNO AWARDS

According to Rap-Up.com, Drake is scheduled to host the 2011 JUNO Awards — Canada’s version of the GRAMMYs. The Canadian native said in a statement, “I am beyond honored to be hosting this monumental JUNO Awards in the greatest city on Earth. I want to bring a youthful energy to the show and encourage people to be excited about what Canadian music has to offer.” Drizzy will serve as the youngest person to ever host the event, which will broadcast on March 27th on CTV.

BEYONCE’S TOUR DVD GOES PLATINUM!

Beyonce’s I Am…World Tour DVD has been certified double platinum in less than a week! MICHELLE BRANCH UPDATES HER FANS

MICHAEL BUBLE TALKS KIDS!

Michael Buble and fiancée, Luisana Loreley Lopilato de la Torre, just set a wedding date, and apparently, they’re already talking about having kids.   The Argentine actress told Entertainment Tonight Canada that she wants to have “four or five,” while the singer-songwriter joked that he wants to “start off with sea monkeys first” and then see if he can “keep those alive” before committing to having children.

FERGIE, NATASHA TO JUDGE SINGING CONTEST

LEONA LEWIS WANTS WILL.I.AM

Leona Lewis recently revealed that she is working with David Guetta on her album that’s due out mid-2011, and it appears that she’s trying to enlist another super-producer on the effort.   The former X-Factor winner told British paper the Daily Mail that she’d “like to work with will.i.am” of the Black Eyed Peas, and that she thinks “he’s very talented.”   Lewis’ forthcoming album is still untitled, as she says that she’s in the “early stages” of making it.

NICKI MINAJ REACTS TO ALBUM SALES!

MTV News was able to get Nicki Minaj on the phone to get her reaction on her tremendous first week sales for Pink Friday. The “Right Thru Me” rapper stated, “I’m just so grateful and kind of still in shock.” Lil Wayne’s protégé added, “These numbers haven’t been put up since 1998. It just makes me feel proud of my team, proud of my fans, everyone who has had something to do with my dreams. Finally, we are seeing this dream come to fruition. MARIAH’S HOLIDAY SONG TOPS BILLBOARD LIST

According to Billboard.com, Mariah Carey’s classic holiday tune, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” has been named number one on Billboard’s 100 Most Popular Seasonal Songs list. The record was created back in 1994 and beat out Brenda Lee’s 1958 “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree” and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s 1995 instrumental medley of “Carol of the Bells” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen.”   In related news, Mi Mi’s Merry Christmas II You Only, which includes “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” is in stores now.

T.I. ISSUES NO MERCY TRAILER PT 2

T.I. has just unleashed a second trailer to further support and promote his upcoming album, No Mercy. In the 28-second clip, Tip continues to remind people that he’s only human. Be sure to get the disc when it lands Tuesday, December 7th.

ARCADE FIRE UP FOR ALBUM OF THE YEAR GRAMMY

Arcade Fire have been honored with one of music’s highest accolades, a nomination for the GRAMMY for Album of the Year for their latest record, The Suburbs. The band is also up for Best Alternative Music Album, facing off against The Black Keys, Vampire Weekend, Band of Horses and Broken Bells. Also, their track, “Ready to Start,” is up for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group With Vocals, and that’ll compete with Muse, Kings of Leon and more.

SEE COLDPLAY CHRISTMAS VIDEO

Coldplay’s holiday song “Christmas Lights” is out now and so is a video for the track. The festive, colorful clip can be viewed at Coldplay.com and fans can download the song on iTunes. The band is working on a new album right now, which they plan to have out next year.
