NEW KANYE WEST SONG!

Kanye West wasn’t kidding when he tweeted that he had a song so great that he wanted to leak it. The rapper just released a new track called “See Me Now” featuring Beyonce and Charlie Wilson. The No I.D.-produced cut will appear on Ye’s forthcoming fifth studio album, formerly titled Good Ass Job.

JUSTIN BIEBER HAS AN ALLOWANCE?

According to ShowBizSpy.com, Justin Bieber’s mother, Pattie Mallette, and manager, Scooter Braun, are looking out for the pop star by giving him a daily allowance. While most young celebrities blow through their earnings, Justin is given a 50 dollar-a-day allowance! The singer explained, “My mom wants me to learn how to be very smart with my money. If I save [my allowance] for a week then I have a couple of hundred bucks that I can spend on something special.”

TREY SONGZ TALKS “BOTTOMS UP” VIDEO

According to MTV News, Trey Songz promises to deliver “something different” in the video for his new single, “Bottoms Up” featuring Nicki Minaj. The R&B champ says it will be “different from the norm, different from what’s expected of me…the energy in the record is definitely heightened with this video.” Fans can expect the Anthony Mandler-directed clip to premiere soon. Be sure to look out for Trey’s Pain, Pleasure, & Pain album, which is slated to arrive on September 14th.

ROB THOMAS’ BUS BREAKS DOWN, STILL HAS FUN

While traveling from California to Idaho on Tuesday on his solo-acoustic tour, Rob Thomas’ bus broke down and he had to spend all day waiting for it to be fixed.   He wrote on Twitter that it wasn’t how he imagined he would be spending his day off — but apparently, things took a turn for the better later that night.   The matchbox twenty wrote on Twitter again, explaining that they ended up going to Reno, Nevada, and that it was the “best day off” that he’s ever had.   He then thanked “fate” for giving him the amazing experience.   Read more at Twitter.com/ThisIsRobThomas.  

LIMP BIZKIT LEAK ANOTHER NEW SONG

Limp Bizkit have leaked yet another song off their new Gold Cobra album. The track is called “Walking Away” and fans can hear it online now. Singer Fred Durst recently explained on the band’s website that the release of the album is taking longer than anticipated, so he hopes the leak will hold fans over. T.I REVEALS HIS TOP FIVE HEROES

T.I. revealed to Ebony magazine the top five men that he looks up to. The rap star respects Jay-Z’s rap career because Hov has “done it better than anyone who’s ever done it.” Tip also admires Master P for becoming “a corporate conglomerate” and hopes to emulate Russell Simmons’ longevity. In addition, T.I. is impressed with Will Smith for transitioning “from rapping to acting” and doing it “at a stellar level of performance.” Last but not least, the rapper can relate to Diddy being “conceited, pompous and arrogant,” but still “managing to maintain a humble sense.”

“EMPIRE” SPOOF REMOVED FROM YOUTUBE

According to Billboard, a spoof version of Jay-Z’s “Empire State of Mind” has reportedly been pulled from YouTube. The parody, which pays tribute to Wales City — a town about 140 miles west of London, has been viewed 1.65-million times on YouTube by all sorts of people, including Lily Allen.   However, EMI Music Publishing got the clip removed because the 24-year-old creator had not gotten permission to use the song.

KE$HA GETS UPSET

Ke$ha was spotted this past weekend at Lollapalooza, making out with her new man, a drummer that once toured with Nine Inch Nails.   But apparently, in between smooches, she got a little angry.   A source told E! Online that at an after-party, the pop star “started freaking out and yelling” because people were taking pictures of “something near her.”   The source insists that it was unwarranted because “no one was paying attention to her.”   Learn more about the story at EOnline.com.

GEORGE MICHAEL’S MUSIC ON GLEE

George Michael is going to have his music featured in an episode of Glee.   According to British paper the Daily Mirror, a future ep will focus solely on the music of the former Wham! singer. It will reportedly air around the same time that Michael re-releases his classic album, Faith.

REDONE STARTS A RECORD LABEL

RedOne, a producer who is behind some of the biggest pop songs in recent years including Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance,” is starting his own record label.   According to PerezHilton.com, RedOne is partnering with Universal Records to create 2101.   His first artist will be a singer-songwriter named Mohombi.   Learn more at the gossip site now.

BOY GEORGE SPEAKS ABOUT GAGA’S DRUG USE

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Lady Gaga admitted to occasionally using cocaine, and that revelation has Boy George worried.   The former Culture Club frontman is very familiar with addiction, as he was formerly hooked on heroin.   He pondered on his blog why Gaga would offer up the information that she uses drugs “on a whim” and that because he’s a “recovering addict,” he knows how dangerous being an occasional user can be.   He also mentioned that “one has to wonder how much of a grip Gaga has on things.”   Read the whole blog entry at PaperMag.com.

JOSS STONE WANTS TO BE A “BOND” GIRL

We already reported that Joss Stone would be lending her likeness, as well as a song, to the new “Bond” video game, James Bond 007: Blood Stone, but now the singer-songwriter is pushing for an even bigger role in the classic franchise.   Joss told SingersRoom.com that she would “love, love, love to be ‘Bond’s’ girl in the next film.”   The next movie with Daniel Craig starring in the title role has been indefinitely postponed, so there still may be hope for her yet.  

TAYLOR SWIFT MAKES HOT 100 HISTORY

Taylor Swift is only the second female artist in the history of the Hot 100 chart to have multiple tracks debut in the top five during a calendar year.   According to Billboard, her song “Mine” will makes its chart debut at number three.   Her highest song debut was “Today Was a Fairytale,” which landed in the number two spot on the list February 6th. The other female artist to accomplish multiple song debuts in the top during one calendar year is Mariah Carey.   She opened at number one with both “Fantasy” and “One Sweet Day” with Boyz II Men in 1995.

ADAM LEVINE SUPPORTS WYCLEF

Wyclef Jean’s is planning on running for President of his native Haiti, and he has at least one musician as a supporter.   Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine wrote on his Twitter account that Wyclef being a politician “makes more sense than an Austrian born action hero running for governor of California.”   Levine is of course poking fun at the man currently in charge of the Golden State, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.

MRAZ AND NORAH JONES FOR FARM AID

You’re not going to want to miss Farm Aid 25.   According to a press release, joining Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp will be Farm Aid veteran Jason Mraz.   And not only that, but Norah Jones will be making her first appearance at the annual event.   Of course there are many other artists that will be there too.   See the lineup now at FarmAid.org.   It takes place October 2nd at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

LIL KIM ENDORSES THREE OLIVES VODKA

Lil Kim graces the new promotional ad for Three Olives Purple Vodka. The fem-cee serves as the spokesmodel for their “What’s Your O-Face?” campaign. Kimmie said in a statement, “Since I’m Queen Bee and purple is the color of royalty. I’m thrilled Three Olives has asked me to bring my flavor to the sexy ‘O-Face’ campaign for their new Purple Vodka!”

JEWEL TAKES A MOTORCYCLE TRIP

Jewel and her husband, Ty Murray, have started their motorcycle adventure across America. The couple began their journey from their hometown in Stephenville, Texas to Colorado Springs, Colorado where they stopped to prep for the rest of the trip. Jewel admits she thought she would be the last person to enjoy a motorcycle ride. She told The Boot, “I was wrong. Being on my bike, I have reconnected with my original joy for traveling because it’s not for a job. It has brought back the innocence of discovery, which is a precious gift!”

SWIFT’S NEW iPHONE APPLICATION FREE FOR FANS

Taylor Swift debuted a new iPhone application called Mix Me In2 during her 15-hour meet and greet at this year’s CMA Festival, and now, the service, which normally costs $2.99, is being offered for free to the first 10-thousand users. Fans are able to incorporate their own style of music into Taylor’s songs with the application, and it’s rumored she may host a contest involving Mix Me In2. TAYLOR SWIFT TO COLLABORATE WITH OWL CITY?

It’s no surprise that many artists are showing interest in collaborating with Taylor Swift, but the alternative-pop group Owl City may actually do it. Taylor has tweeted about her love for the group, which is known for their hit “Fireflies,” and also caught one of their shows. The band’s frontman, Adam Young, told Billboard, “One of my dreams has been to get Taylor Swift to do a song. I have kind of a cool idea for this sort of hybrid, countryish direction for a new song that would be perfect for her. We’re hoping for the best. Fingers crossed.” Adam also remixed Taylor’s hit with John Mayer, “Half of My Heart.”

LADY ANTEBELLUM’S LATEST WEBISODE WEDNESDAY

Lady Antebellum’s latest Webisode Wednesday pays tribute to Tim McGraw’s Southern Voice Tour. The group takes fans backstage as they prepare for the last show in Toronto, Canada, and also shows footage of the group being pranked by Tim. In the video, the band also receives a plaque for their sophomore album, Need You Now, going double platinum in Canada. TAYLOR SWIFT RECOGNIZED FOR HER BOWLING SKILLS

Taylor Swift has won another fan-voted award as she was chosen for the 2010 celebrity induction into the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame. Taylor beat out her pal Justin Bieber for the spot, as well as eight other celebrities. Swift has been photographed at the bowling alley with best friend Selena Gomez, as well as Glee star Cory Monteith. This is the first year the organization allowed fans to choose the celebrity, and nearly 1.3-million votes were cast online. The museum, which is based in Arlington, Virginia, will feature Taylor’s photo and a plaque later this summer.

JAY-Z TO PLAY WORLD BASKETBALL FESTIVAL

We’ve just learned Jay-Z will perform during the inaugural World Basketball Festival to celebrate the 2010 USA Basketball World Championship Team. JENNIFER LOPEZ WON’T BE NEXT JUDGE ON IDOL?

People.com has learned through trusted sources that Jennifer Lopez won’t be a judge on American Idol. The deal that the entertainer was working on to be a permanent judge on the show for its upcoming tenth season reportedly fell apart. A source explained, “Her demands got out of hand. FOX had just had enough.” Since Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres are not returning, the network is scrambling to lock in potential replacements like Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler. J-Lo is yet to respond to being out of the running.

UPDATE: Nick Cannon recently told MTV News that Mariah Carey has expressed that she would “love” to be a judge on the show. Nick says of his wife, “She is one of the greatest singers of our time; she would be great. I don’t know if she has enough time, though, but if they could work with her schedule, I know she would love to do Idol. Let’s start the campaign!”

CYPRESS HILL READIES SMOKEOUT FESTIVAL

The annual Cypress Hill Smokeout Music Festival will return on October 16th to the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California. Group member B-Real revealed in a statement that the band will perform their “self-titled album in its entirety” during the event. NELLY LANDS RADIO HOSTING GIG

Rap-Up.com reports Nelly will be the new on-air personality for a St. Louis radio station. The rapper can be heard weekdays in his hometown between 3 and 7 PM. Station executives revealed he’s temporarily filling in for a female radio host who is on maternity leave. Nelly will only be on-air for a month. In related news, his new album, 5.0, is still slated for a November 16th release.

SPIDER-MAN MUSICAL TO OPEN IN DECEMBER

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, the Broadway musical featuring music from Bono and The Edge, will debut in New York City on December 21st. The production, which has been troubled with financial problems and push-backs, will feature Reeve Carney in the role of “Peter Parker.” The general public will be able to purchase tickets for the show starting in September.
