DEAD MEADOW FRONTMAN JASON SIMON SET TO RELEASE SOLO DEBUT

Jason Simon, guitarist and vocalist for critically acclaimed Washington, D.C. hard rock band and Matador Records recording artists DEAD MEADOW has completed work on his debut solo album.   Simon will release the self-titled Jason Simon on September 14 via NYC’s Tee Pee Records.

As the voice of the celebrated psychedelic trio DEAD MEADOW since 1998, Jason Simon has helped craft many captivating, hook-laden songs while the band has enjoyed a successful, highly regarded decade-plus career.   Simon’s “wispy tenor” and “mystical lyricism” have been called “mesmerizing” by Rolling Stone while his distorted axe riffs and wah-wah pedal effects have been said to “ooze early ’70s psych-rock power and experimentalism” by Spin.   With his solo debut, Simon takes listeners through an acoustic wormhole by using the palette of spacey atmospherics, head-nodding prog-blues and pop sensibilities of his main band and painting in subtler shades.
