Does Britney Spears want to be frozen after she dies? According to British paper The Sun, a friend of the pop star said that Brit “gets these obsessions and this is the latest,” and that it has to with Walt Disney wanting to preserve his body using cryogenics. The source went on, saying that she may even invest as much as 350-thousand dollars for the chance to live sometime later in the future.
MADONNA TO REPLACE SIMON ON IDOL?
Could Madonna be the next judge of American Idol? They are only rumors, but a source told British paper The Sun that the Queen of Pop could be in line to replace Simon Cowell, who will judge his last episode of the hit reality series tonight. The source said, “Everyone agrees Madge would be great and they want her as a full-time judge. But if that fails they’d at least like her as a mentor.” Cowell recently told Oprah Winfrey on her show that all he wants in a replacement is someone that “actually knows what they’re talking about.”
EMINEM REVEALS RECOVERY ALBUM COVER
Eminem has released the cover artwork for his seventh studio album, Recovery. Slim Shady has chosen two pictures to represent the disc, one of which could potentially be used for a deluxe edition release. Fans can grab Recovery when it lands on June 22nd. In related news, the first single, “Not Afraid,” recently debuted at the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100.
LADY GAGA DOES NOT HAVE AN EATING DISORDER
Lady Gaga has struck down rumors about her having an eating disorder. The “Bad Romance” singer told British paper The Times that because of her busy schedule, she doesn’t “get very much time to eat,” but that she certainly does not “have an eating problem.”
JOE JONAS AND DEMI LOVATO SPLIT
It’s official — Joe Jonas and Demi Lovato have split up. The young actress confirmed the rumor on her Twitter page, saying that they did break-up, but it wasn’t over the phone like some websites were reporting. She also said that she is “NOT dating anybody already.” Joe also released a statement about the split, saying that they will remain friends.
CHRISTINA RELEASES “ELASTIC LOVE”

CHRISTINA POSTPONES BIONIC TOUR
According to MTV News, Christina Aguilera has decided to postpone her summer tour with Leona Lewis until next year to further promote her upcoming Bionic album. Those who purchased tickets for the outing will be able to get a refund and can anticipate new dates for the event to be announced sometime soon. A rep from the “Not Myself Tonight” singer’s camp explained in a statement that Christina “felt she needed more time to rehearse the show and with less than a month between the album release and tour dates this wasn’t possible.” In addition, the entertainer also needs time to promote her new movie, Burlesque. Dolly Parton is revealing some things about the forthcoming final season of Miley Cyrus’s Hannah Montana. According to the Associated Press, the country legend says that “Hannah” takes off her wig to reveal her true identity and the hardships that go with it. Parton said that the situation reflects Cyrus’ real life because she’s always getting put under a microscope with everything she does. The final season premieres in July.
NAS AND KELIS OFFICIALLY DIVORCED
According to reports from TMZ, Nas and Kelis are officially divorced. After a long, ugly battle, everything was finalized last Friday in L-A County Superior Court. While the rapper’s contempt charges may have been dismissed, the emcee still has upcoming legal proceedings to resolve issues with spousal and child support. While Lil Wayne continues his year long sentence at Rikers Island, fans will be able to see new music videos from the rap star over Memorial Day weekend. The full clip, along with “Knockout” featuring Nicki Minaj, “Runnin” with Shanell and “Get a Life,” will premiere on MTV Jams this weekend. Kid Rock is the latest musician to pay tribute to late Black Sabbath singer Ronnie James Dio in concert. While making a surprise appearance last Friday at the East Lansig, Michigan stop on Conan O’Brien’s Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour, Rock performed his song “If I Was President.” In the lyrics of the track, the rocker promised to be honest, to turn churches into strip clubs, to give his Presidential address while smoking a joint and to make Dio’s day of passing a national holiday. OBAMAS AND STARS TO HONOR PAUL McCARTNEY
President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama will host a concert in the White House next week honoring Paul McCartney, who will be awarded the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song from the Library of Concert. The honor is given to musicians whose lifetime contributions in popular song exemplify excellence. At the event, Dave Grohl, Elvis Costello, Foo Fighters, Jack White and Emmylou Harris will all perform while Jerry Seinfeld, Stevie Wonder, Faith Hill and The Jonas Brothers will pay tribute to the Beatle as well. It will all air on July 28th as a special on PBS.
U2 POSTPONE ENTIRE TOUR TILL 2011
Due to Bono’s recent emergency back surgery, U2 has announced that their upcoming tour has been postponed to 2011. Bono has been ordered by doctors to recuperate for at least eight weeks. The doctor who performed the operation says Bono was suffering severe pain and partial paralysis in his lower leg before the surgery. According to a statement from the band, “Bono is now much better, with complete recovery of his motor deficit. BRET TO HAVE HEART OPERATION IN THE FALL
Doctors recently discovered a hole in Bret Michaels’ heart and the Poison singer revealed to Access Hollywood that this fall, he’s going to have an operation to fix the issue. Bret Michaels has posted a note to his fans on his Facebook page. The rocker, who was just diagnosed with a hole in his heart and is recovering from a brain hemorrhage and a warning stroke, told fans that with all his “heart, soul and the remaining organs [he] has left,” he wants to thank everyone for their support. The Poison singer goes on to say that even though he is not at 100 percent yet, he will try to continue his solo tour starting Friday in Mississippi.
