MILEY’S 17TH BIRTHDAY SURPRISE
Miley Cyrus turned 17 yesterday and she celebrated over the weekend with family in friends in New York City. According to People magazine, the pop star was surprised with a performance from the cast of the hit Broadway musical Rock of Ages and had a special cake designed by the people from TLC’s Cake Boss.
RELIVE GAGA’S AMA PERFORMANCE

TAYLOR SWIFT TALKS AMAS
Taylor Swift cleaned up at the American Music Awards that took place in Los Angeles over the weekend, taking home five, including the coveted Favorite Artist of the Year. Swift wasn’t able to be at the show because she was in London rehearsing, but the country superstar did take to her Twitter to express her emotions about being the big winner. MAYER TAKES IT EASY IN THE STUDIO
Just because being a musician is your job doesn’t mean that you’re always looking forward to work. According to ContactMusic.com, John Mayer said in an interview that he’s not one to choose his career over his lifestyle. The “Daughters” singer said, “I can definitely feel the pull. Do you wanna go into a room where you’re basically gonna excavate, emotionally, for 12 hours? It’s very, very difficult to want to give 14 hours a day to making a record, to continue to choose music over a lifestyle.”
ROB THOMAS IS IN THE HOLIDAY SPIRIT
Rob Thomas is not one to pass on the opportunity to help a charity, and things will be no different this holiday season. The matchbox twenty frontman will be performing on the TV special Christmas in Washington, which is a musical celebration that benefits the National Children’s Medical Center. It’s usually attended by some of the most important people in Washington, including the President and the First Lady. Fall Out Boy’s Pete Wentz and wife, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, celebrated their son Bronx Mowgli’s first birthday this weekend, The party included an appearance by “SpongeBob Squarepants” and featured a bounce house. During her I Am… tour stop in the U-K’s Trent FM Arena, Beyonce revealed some big news. The entertainer announced that she’ll see her fans again “in a year with a new album.” According to her official fan site, Bey is also teaming up with hitmaker Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins on her fourth studio effort. ARE AMY WINEHOUSE AND BLAKE ENGAGED?
It seems that the saga that is Amy Winehouse and Blake Fielder-Civil will just never end. According to Web site NewsOfTheWorld.co.uk, the embattled singer proposed to her ex-husband, who supposedly said yes. The site also reports that Winehouse was seen out in London over the weekend flashing a ring on her engagement finger.
TRAVIS McCOY CATCHES PHISH
Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy attended a Phish concert in his hometown of Syracuse, New York on Sunday night. The singer took to Twitter to gush about the band, writing, “These dudes are BEASTS!” Travis went on to write, “Such a d**k for never giving this band an honest chance, such a great show.” He later added, “Most devoted fans I’ve ever seen, not a single soul standing still in the entire place.” McCoy got to see Phish cover Stevie Wonder, The Who and Led Zeppelin at Sunday night’s show. Phish’s fall tour rolls into Philadelphia tomorrow and Wednesday.

LEONA ATTACKER STILL NOT FIT FOR COURT
The man that attacked Leona Lewis at an October book signing had his court hearing postponed again. According to ContactMusic.com, 29-year-old Peter Kowalczyk was still considered too unwell to attend court on Monday in London, and the date was moved yet again. Now it’s set to take place on December 14th.
DIDDY SPENDS 3-MILLION ON BDAY PARTY
According to the New York Post’s Page Six column, Diddy reportedly spent a whopping three-million dollars on his birthday party. The rapper, who just turned 40, treated 500 guests to all kinds of luxury during his a fantasy Garden of Eden-themed party. The mogul spent 30 grand for an orchid display and he even had a black dance floor and black chandelier installed for the event.
LUPE FIASCO TO DROP THANKSGIVING MIXTAPE
According to MTV News, Lupe Fiasco has plans to unleash a new mixtape on Thanksgiving. Lupe’s new material will be recorded over other emcee’s beats and will help tide his fans over until his third studio effort drops. The rapper still hasn’t figured out a title for the mixtape and he told MTV he has “four days to figure it out. I’ve been dabbling with some names. I don’t know yet.” He is also finishing his upcoming Lasers album, which is scheduled to be released on December 15th.
ASHANTI LANDS TV DEAL
According to her official fan site, Ashanti has reportedly landed a major deal with Revielle LLC — the major TV production company behind Ugly Betty, The Biggest Loser, and It’s On With Alexa Chung. Ashanti will serve as an Executive Producer for a new music based competition television show — which she will also appear on. The singer said in a statement that she “can’t wait to begin production.”

U2 TO HEADLINE GLASTONBURY
It’s just been announced that U2 will headline the Glastonbury Festival next year. They’ll play the 40th anniversary of the festival on June 25th and it’ll be the first festival type gig for U2 in over 25 years. Creed frontman Scott Stapp talked with Spin magazine about the 1999 video that’s surfaced featuring Kid Rock and him receiving oral sex from women on a tour bus. Stapp is arguing that the clip shouldn’t be called a sex tape as it only features fellatio.
