Taylor Swift was surprised backstage during the dress rehearsals for The 43rd Annual CMA Awards when Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn presented her with the 2009 CMA International Artist Achievement Award. Brooks & Dunn were last year’s recipients of the award, which recognizes outstanding achievement by a U-S-based artist who contributes to the awareness and development of country music outside the United States. <LR>

RIHANNA LEAPS TO TOP TEN & OWL CITY TOPS BILLBOARD HOT 100 CHART
Rihanna earns her 12th career top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100, as “Russian Roulette” shoots up 66 spots to number nine, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Owl City’s “Fireflies” returns to the top of the chart after Jason DeRulo’s “Whatcha Say” dethroned the song last week, while DeRulo’s debut dips to number three. In between the two songs is Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind,” which rises one spot to number two. Iyaz jumps eight spots to number four with “Replay,” Jay Sean’s “Down,” featuring Lil Wayne slides one spot to number five and Miley Cyrus’ “Party in the U.S.A.” falls one spot to number six. Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” slips one spot to number seven, Britney Spears’ “3” holds the line at number eight, while Beyonce’s “Sweet Dreams” climbs one spot to number 10.
BILLBOARD TIDBITS: Justin Bieber earns this week’s biggest debut as “Favorite Girl” starts at number 26. Jay Sean’s second single directly follows Bieber’s arrival, as “Do You Remember” featuring Sean Paul and Lil Jon debuts at number 27.
Rihanna’s 12 Hot 100 top 10’s place her second among female acts this decade, trailing only Beyonce’s 13 top 10’s since 2000.
Taylor Swift’s “Fifteen” climbs eight spots to number 38. It marks her 13th top 40 hit from her Fearless album, extending the record for most such entries from one album in the chart’s history.
LEONA LEWIS ANNOUNCES FIRST U-K TOUR
Leona Lewis has announced her first U-K tour, which will visit ten arenas in May and June next year. According to Billboard, the outing will kick off at Sheffield Arena on May 28th and will wrap in Dublin’s O2 Arena on June 27th. Lewis’ sophomore album, Echo, will be released on November 17th.
SEAN PAUL LACES JAY SEAN’S “DO YOU REMEMBER”
Sean Paul hooked up with Jay Sean and Lil’ Jon on the track called “Do You Remember,” which debuts at number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart this week. The collaboration was reportedly birthed at the MTV Video Music Awards, when Sean Paul indicated to Jay Sean that they need to work together. Sean Paul said, “After the VMA’s, he called me up, sent me the track and I sent it back.” “Do You Remember” is the second single off Jay Sean’s All or Nothing album, which will be released on November 23rd.
JANET JACKSON TO CELEBRATE NUMBER ONES WITH HER FANS
Janet Jackson will celebrate her Number Ones album with spontaneous flash mob performances in Los Angeles tomorrow. The singer is rumored to appear at the performances as a group will dance to a medley of Jackson’s hits like “If,” “Rhythm Nation” and “Nasty.” The flash mob will perform at The Grove at 198 The Grove Drive in Los Angeles at noon and 2 PM as well as at Universal CityWalk in Universal City, California at 4 PM. Janet Jackson’s Number Ones album will be released on Tuesday.
BACKSTREET BOYS RELEASE VIDEO FOR “BIGGER”
The Backstreet Boys have just released the video for their song “Bigger.” The clip was shot in Tokyo, Japan and features the guys having tea with locals, singing karaoke and playing video games. The song is featured on the group’s latest album, This Is Us, which has sold over 60-thousand copies to date.
CHRIS BROWN GETS CURSED OUT!
During a meet-and-greet at New York’s Footaction, Chris Brown was taunted and cursed out by an angry Rihanna fan! According to TMZ, Breezy did his best to avoid the situation as the angry lady shouted slurs like “f**king beater” and “I hope someone beats the f**king crap out of you!” Meanwhile, Brown’s fans encouraged the singer to “slap that bitch.”

T-BOZ CATCHES THE SWINE FLU
Life & Style magazine reports T-Boz from TLC is currently recovering from the swine flu, which caused her to “stay in the house and away from everyone.” The 39-year-old singer had to have her daughter, who also had the flu, stay with her mother as she battled the deadly virus. She recalled going to the emergency room and being bed stricken for nine to 12 days all while taking medication and supplements to regain her strength.

Omarion told Rap-Up.com that Chris Brown helped him craft a song titled “What Do You Say?” for his upcoming Ollusion album. The former B2K frontman also revealed his new effort will officially hit shelves on January 12th.
BONO & WYCLEF HONORED
Bono and Wyclef Jean will be honored with the RFK Center’s Ripple of Hope Award. The event will take place in New York City on Wednesday and features a performance by Wyclef Jean. The ceremony will also honor the late Senator Edward Kennedy, who served on the RFK Board of Directors for over 40 years.
ANNIE LENNOX GETS HONORED
Annie Lennox has done lots of humanitarian work helping to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS, and now the former Eurythmics singer has been recognized for it. According to ContactMusic.com, because of her constant philanthropy, Lennox was honored as the 2009 Woman of Peace at a Nobel summit that took place in Berlin, Germany on Wednesday. Lennox thanked her fellow activists and was presented with a piece of the Berlin Wall, which came down just over 20 years ago.
