LADY GAGA’S ANNIVERSARY

Lady GaGa’s The Fame album celebrates one year on the Billboard album chart this week.   GaGa’s debut effort has sold over 1.5-million copies and spawned hits like “Paparazzi” and “Poker Face.”   GaGa is re-releasing the album as The Fame Monster on November 23rd.

JENNIFER LOPEZ TAKES BRANDY’S “LOUBOUITINS”

According to Rap-Up.com, “Louboutins,” Jennifer Lopez’s lead single from her upcoming album, was actually an old Brandy song. In fact, Brandy tweeted that the song was recorded before she left Epic Records. In any case, J Lo will use the track on her sixth studio album Love? In addition, fans should expect the Latin sensation to perform “Louboutins” at the American Music Awards on November 22nd.

NEW MOON SOUNDTRACK TOPS BILLBOARD CHART

The Twilight Saga: New Moon soundtrack rises to the top of the Billboard album chart this week, selling 153-thousand copies in its first full week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.   The album, which features music from Death Cab For Cutie, Thom York and The Killers, arrived on the chart last week, after an early release last Friday pushed it onto the chart with just three days of sales.   Tim McGraw’s Southern Voice album bows at number two selling 137-thousand copies.   After two weeks at the top, Michael Buble’s Crazy Love slips to number three, Jay-Z’s The Blueprint 3 falls one spot to number four and Miley Cyrus holds the line at number five with The Time of Our Lives.   The Black Eyed Peas stay put at number six with The E.N.D. while Taylor Swift’s Fearless also holds steady at number seven.   Owl City leaps 12 notches to number eight with Ocean Eyes, propelled by the flight of “Fireflies,” which tops the Hot Digital Songs chart this week.   Barbra Streisand’s Love Is the Answer drops five rungs to number nine and Joss Stone’s Target and iTunes-exclusive, Colour Me Free, debuts at number 10.

JAY-Z & ALICIA TO PERFORM AT WORLD SERIES TONIGHT

Jay-Z and fellow New Yorker Alicia Keys were due to perform “Empire State of Mind” before Game 1 of the World Series, but the performance was pushed to tonight due to rainy weather that dampened New York City.   The New York Yankees are facing the defending world champion Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series for the first time in 59 years.  

ADAM LAMBERT’S FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT

American Idol runner-up Adam Lambert will release his debut album, For Your Entertainment, on November 23rd.   The singer has logged studio time with Ryan Tedder from OneRepublic as well as Kara DioGuardi, Linda Perry and Max Martin.   Lambert will perform at the American Music Awards on Sunday, November 22nd, one day before his album is released.

ELVIS, LENNON ON TOP-EARNING DEAD CELEBS LIST

Forbes has released their annual list of Top-Earning Dead Celebrities and a new name tops the chart.   It’s designer Yves Saint Laurent, who raked in 350-million dollars posthumously this year.   Rodgers & Hammerstein place second with 235 million, followed by Michael Jackson, who earned 90 million.   Elvis Presley is in the four spot followed by author J.R.R. Tolkien, Peanuts creator Charles Schulz, John Lennon, Dr. Seuss, Albert Einstein, Michael Crichton, Aaron Spelling and Jimi Hendrix.   Check out the entire list at Forbes.com/DeadCelebs.

Among the celebrities who dropped off of the list this year are Heath Ledger, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe and Marvin Gaye.

MIKE SNOW REMIXES KINGS OF LEON

Did you know that Mike Snow remixed Kings of Leon’s track “Crawl?” The remixed version of the song is now available to fans that pre-order the band’s new DVD at KingsOfLeon.com. MTV COMPILES SCARIEST ALBUMS

Halloween is this weekend and MTV has compiled their Scariest Albums of All Time. Korn’s self-titled 1994 debut record makes the list, as does The Cure’s Pornography, Geto Boys, Nine Inch Nails and more. U2 TO PERFORM WHERE THE BERLIN WALL FELL

U2 are set to perform at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin on November 5th as part of the MTV Europe Awards. The band’s performance will be in the spot where the Berlin Wall came down almost 20 years ago.   The concert will serve as a prelude to the Fall of the Wall celebrations in the German city. Fans can register for a chance to win a pair of free tickets to the event at U2.com now.

MADONNA IN MALAWI

Madonna has been in Malawi while construction begins on a girl’s school that she is funding, but that’s not the only reason the Queen of Pop is in the African country.   According to the Associated Press, Madge took her son David to the orphanage where he lived before she adopted him.   Madonna’s other three children, Lourdes, Rocco and Mercy, also went along for the trip.

NEW DELUXE ALBUM FROM THE FRAY

The Fray’s self-titled sophomore album was such a success, that the Denver-band has decided to release it again as a special two-disc deluxe edition.   The second disc of the record will contain all new material, including live versions of their hits “Never Say Never” and “You Found Me,” and for the first time on CD, a version of their cover of Kanye West’s “Heartless.”   The deluxe album is due in stores on November 10th.

JEWEL TOURS ACOUSTICALLY

We’ve just learned Jay-Z has landed on another Forbes list, only this time the rap mogul is getting recognized for his business savvy. MONICA RETURNS WITH TWO NEW SINGLES

Not only has Monica landed a new reality series on BET, but the R&B veteran is also releasing new music from her upcoming sixth studio album, Still Standing. The 29-year-old songstress tweeted to her fans that she will be dropping two new Polow Da Don-produced singles, “Here I Am” and “Nothing Like” featuring T-Pain. No word as to when the tracks will be unleashed.
