Skope TV headed out to Tewksbury, MA on Saturday afternoon to meet a true guitar connoisseur. Dan Murphy the owner of D&M Guitars was gracious enough to have Skope at his shop in Tewksbury, MA.
D&M Guitars designs and builds custom electric guitars, along with providing a broad range of lutherie services for both acoustic and electric guitarists.
Dan plays guitar, and spent much of the roaring eighties as a touring guitar tech for some of the best shredders of the “Metal Era”, including Jon Butcher, and a 6 year stint with Kirk Hammett and others in between. He also racked up studio credits for these and other artists during that period.
Now a graduate of Bryan Galloups’ School of Lutherie in Big Rapids Michigan, Daniel holds a journeyman certificate in the building and repair of both acoustic and electric instruments.
