Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith told Billboard that he will return to active duty with the band starting in October. The group has been on hiatus since their tour supporting the 2005 double album Stadium Arcadium. Chad said that bassist Flea and guitarist John Frusciante may come to the table with new musical ideas but likely the band will just be jamming when they first get back together.
