The former owner of Rhode Island’s Station nightclub, where in 2003, 100 people died when a fire erupted during a Great White concert, has been released early from prison for good behavior. Michael Derderian spent three years behind bars after pleading no contest to 100 counts of involuntary manslaughter. He was due out in the fall but was freed on Thursday. The club fire was fueled by cheap foam used as soundproofing. According to WBZTV.com, Derderian said in a statement that while his incarceration has ended, (quote) “remembering the loss of life and pain from family members and survivors is something that will never leave me.”
