Loamlands Shares “Soni Wolf Grandmother” Track | ‘Lez Dance’ LP Out 6/7 On Cruisin Records
When talking about the track Kym Register says, “Soni Wolf Grandmother questions our queer origin stories by exploring the identities of our elders. Soni Wolf Founded Dykes on Bikes. But what was she like outside of that narrative? What was it like to gay in the 70’s / 80’s? What was it like when there were fewer gender identities? What was is like for my grandmother? What would they be like now? How can we tell the stories outside of the lenses of our own narratives?”
Brother Son Release new single ‘Lonely Shoulder To Cry On’ via The Wild Honey Pie
The story of Brother Son begins with four unlikely friends of disparate musical tastes and backgrounds uniting over a shared love of Alabama Shakes, The Strokes, Mac DeMarco, and ganj. Their music reflects this, bringing a unique blend of bluesy soul and jazzy smoothness to indie rock. And so they began in early 2017 with their debut EP Young & Pretty, the first order of business being to play as many shows in as many midwestern cities as they could. Rising quickly to local prominence, by the end of that year they began headlining and selling out shows at venues like El Club, The Shelter, and The Loving Touch. Now, with a tour under their belts as well, they’ve been gearing up to release their second LP, Goodies, with even more tucked away for a third project slated for early 2020. With all that locked and loaded, their next move will be east and west coast tours this summer.

SONTALK releases new video to honor mental health awareness month
“This video means a lot to me,” he told Billboard. “I hope it gives hope to those who need it and consolation for those struggling with mental illness and/or substance abuse, or those in relationships with someone struggling with these things. Apart from that, I hope this short film can help outsiders empathize with people in the midst of this battle by hopefully normalizing the life of those burdened by mental illness and addiction. I’ve been in and around the cycles of mental illness/addiction for most of my life, and I’ve seen families and children’s worlds rocked by the constant oscillation from good times to bad times. I’m grateful for all the advancements in treatment and the destigmatization of these illnesses in the public sphere. Without these and the support of my family and friends I could have so easily gotten lost on the road of self medication and wound up just another ‘crazy person,’ a ‘drunk’ or a ‘junkie.’ Whatever you want to call it. I hope this video helps show that these ‘crazy people,’ ‘drunks’ and ‘junkies’ are still PEOPLE with families and children who they desperately want to stop disappointing.”
