Elle Azar Wants to “Get Your Hopes Up” with Earmilk Debut

“The production in this track perfectly encapsulates this inner turmoil between hope and hopelessness with its sparkling synths backed by dark and booming percussions,” Earmilk’s Valeria Kolomiets wrote on Thursday, “Meandering through a full-bodied composition textured with instrumental souvenirs, the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel shines through in Elle Azar’s modestly commanding vocals. Seamlessly guiding us through the hauntingly catchy hooks and stirring bridges, Azar sets us up in her safe space— filling us with peace in our hearts and rhythm in our feet… We’ll be sure to follow her advice and get our hopes up for an honest, refreshing, and absolutely stunning debut.”

SUR Releases New Song “Only Road” Today

“‘Only Road’ is a song about order and chaos and how we all have to deal with these things,” says Zack Arnett. “The yin yang and the balancing act we do in between the two is the road of life and we dance along its path until we reach the end. Without the lowest of lows there are no highest of highs, so along the road we go in search of the next big one.”

Indie-folk Duo Cricket Blue Releases ‘Serotinalia’

It’s fitting that the title of indie-folk duo Cricket Blue’s debut full-length album, Serotinalia, immediately conjures fantasy: Laura Heaberlin and Taylor Smith are musicians, sure, but they’re storytellers, too. On their new album, out today, the duo’s mesmerizing vocal pairing narrates in-depth character studies featuring people on the brink of metamorphoses.

Serotinalia presents a series of flawed protagonists who are all subject to distressing circumstances that act as triggers for psychological transformation. Inspired by literary voices including Alice Munro, Dylan Thomas, and Flannery O’Connor, the album’s eleven songs feature a cast of characters right out of a short story collection: a listless grocery store clerk; a woman obsessed with her milkman; a harvest deity who is ritually murdered every fall. Each has something in common: they are in the middle of situations they are not equipped to deal with, due to emotional and psychological blind spots.

Madrid metal band Adrift is one of the most respected bands in the Spanish underground scene. WHETHAN ENLISTS JEREMIH ON NEW SINGLE “LET ME TAKE YOU”

Whethan says, “I had been sitting on this track with Jeremih for a while now and explored every possible version of the song before landing on this one. I’ve been really inspired by a lot of house music and wanted to find a way to bring that into my world. It was important to me that I made something that people could really dance too. This is probably my favorite track to date and I’m just excited to show my fans where the future of my music is headed.”

Prettiest Eyes Announce New LP, Share Video On BrooklynVegan

Last year’s “Pools” having taken up a sizable chunk of our cold dark hearts, we were delighted to hear that LA post-industrial trio Prettiest Eyes have a new gang of crowd-stirrers. None too early, either; once you’ve become accustomed to their clanging synthetic orbit, it’s hard to find other tunes that truly scratch the same itch. Volume 3 bursts at the seams with chrome-dipped timbres and surprise sharp edges, alien klaxon-calls and wailing dissonance offsetting the ziplock’d grease of their insistent drum and bass grooves. Prettiest Eyes are one of the most exciting live bands going on right now, and Volume 3 catches them in fine fettle. It’s out on Castle Face records June 24th

PEOPLE.COM PREMIERE PETE MULLER’S “ALIVE IN ME” THE THIRD SINGLE FROM HIS FORTHCOMING DISSOLVE (MAY 17)

“Alive in Me,” is a work of particular meaning to Muller, written for his recently departed Mother, Eva. “My Mom was a large influence on my work ethic, my desire to help others, and my quasi-Buddhist nature. She was the only doctor in a small Brazilian town before she moved to the U.S., met another immigrant (my Dad was Austrian), and had two kids. They were married for 58 years. My Mom practiced medicine in New Jersey well into her 70s and would have turned 91 this May 17. I wrote this song just before she passed last year, and I love that I get to remember her every time I play it.”

The first two singles off the album, “To The Dogs” and “Back in the Tall Grass” came out last year accompanied by striking visuals, which set a promising tone for what’s to come from the songwriter who’s been described as “a pop smith totally out of the ordinary, with remarkable strength in a voice that paradoxically also comes across as frail” (Dagsavisen). She shares the charming”
