Today, NYC-based indie rock outfit, Miss Grit, shares her lead single and title track “Talk Talk” and announces her debut EP, out next year. Yesterday, The 405 premiered the track, praising, “A looping synth, some light piano and drums and Sohn’s voice are all that welcome the listener on ‘Talk Talk.’ But as the song builds, more pieces layer atop one another, including some skittering guitar and a surprisingly lithe bassline. After serving seven years behind bars following a problematic trial and controversial conviction, the Jamaican-born artist has at last completed his Long Walk To Freedom. On Friday, December 7th Mark Myrie was released from prison-one day early-and accepted voluntarily deportation back to his island homeland of Jamaica. Currently enroute home, Buju Banton is filled with anticipation over the simple things so many of us take for granted in our day-to-day lives. When asked the first thing he was looking forward to when you return home, the artist’s response was: “A clean glass of water to flow through my system.”
