Ecstatic Union Premiere, “Desert Queen” Video via Atwood Mag
Ecstatic Union’s sound is like a liquid sun-soaked harmony layered psychedelic dance party. Started in 2012 as a kind of solo-spiritual-folk-rock recording project by frontman Rex Costello, after assembling a few core members (including Oliver Hart & recording partner Paul Olsen) the band took on various forms over the years and primarily played as an acoustic folk act.
Corusco Announces Debut Album, Releases Lead Single “New Year”
Texas three-piece Corusco have been flying under the radar the last few years while writing new music and performing around the country. Today, the band is thrilled to announce what they’ve been working on, their debut album Wake which has been set for release on May 25th, 2018. Produced by Aaron Gillespie (Underoath, The Almost), Wake was inspired by the idea that each song on it’s own is a piece of a larger mosaic that comes together to recreate a variety of memories encapsulated within the album. Along with the announcement, Corusco has partnered with GroundSounds for the premiere of their latest single, “New Year,” a track that was inspired by a first kiss that felt as if it were plucked right out of a movie. “New Year” is one of seven tracks on the release that showcase the band’s growth over the years. Vocalist Aaron Gonzalez had this to say about Corusco’s debut album:
“Wake is the result of us growing, learning, and pushing ourselves to create something meaningful. We’re really proud of these songs, and we’re excited and grateful to finally be able to share it with everyone.”
New single from Ivor Novello winning songwriter Scott Matthews
“The Great Untold” from Scott Matthews is out April 27th from the Ivor Novello winning (for best song lyrically and musically) songwriter, whose music was always perhaps a little too confessional for the major label world he was plunged into on his debut. He returns with a new album that marks his entrance to fatherhood and a decision to produce the record himself, playing almost every instrument in a stripped back sound that pays dues to key influences such as Bert Jansch, Paul Simon and Tim Buckley.

MIYA FOLICK SHARES VIDEO FOR “DEADBODY”
LA-based artist Miya Folick has just shared a video for her recently released single “Deadbody.” The arresting single-take video underscores the tension at the heart of the song’s lyrical themes. States Folick, “I wrote ‘Deadbody’ after reading article after article about people’s exploitation by people and power structures, and then talking to my friends about our own heavy experiences. I felt defeated by the weight and pervasiveness of the system we are fighting. I needed something to sing that felt hopeful but fierce. To me, the song is an outward expression of a very internal shift from passivity to power. We wanted to make a video that explored how power can be quiet, private, almost imperceptible. It’s meant to express that you don’t have to shout to be strong. Though it does feel good.”

Watch Sleeptalk’s “I Hope You’re Doing Well”
LA-based electro/indie pop band Sleeptalk recently released their latest single “I Hope You’re Doing Well,” a melancholy breakup anthem that dropped on Valentine’s Day. After receiving a warm response and over 27K plays on Spotify in under two months, the band decided to record a stripped-down version of the track. In the bathed-in-blue music video, the band tinkers with synth pads and other light instrumentation, while giving the melody optimal space to breathe. Slow and steady is the approach here and it allows the devastating lyrics to really expose the loss that vocalist Anthony Fitzpatrick felt.
