Jamie Aaron Aux (Le Butcherettes) announces her new LP
Seattle-scene staple Jamie Aaron Aux has announced her newest album, Close The Circle. What started as a follow-up to her more pop-rock inclined 2014 release, Velo Scene, quickly became something altogether new, with less indie buoyancy, delving into sonically heavier depths. Recorded and produced by Aux herself in her home studio, and mixed in El Paso by Chris Common (Le Bucherettes, These Arms Are Snakes), with guest vocalists Jenn Champion and Maiah Manser, and drum performances by Rick Weber and Common.
Anna Coogan Shares “Burn For You”

GlerAkur is the moniker Icelandic composer and sound designer Elvar Geir Sævarsson has chosen to represent the unique cinematic music he creates apart from his engagement as a sound engineer at the National Theater of Iceland. Icelandic for “Glass Field”, GlerAkur draws inspiration from post rock, drone and ambient music, as well as black and doom metal, blending and bending sound into hypnotic waves of dreamlike atmosphere that Rolling Stone hailed as “brutally irresistible”, calling for comparison to “Metallica covering the live half of Pink Floyd’s 1969 album Ummagumma.” GlerAkur will release its debut full-length, The Mountains Are Beautiful Now, on July 21 via Prophecy Productions (Alcest, Völur).

OWSLA producer/singer josh pan and collaborators X&G have released the jarring video for their anthem “nowhere.” Directed by Liam Underwood, the video is a commentary on the chaotic, rapidly-evolving state of politics, media, war, free speech and its oppression. In josh’s own words:
“at times like this, we need to stick together and realize that we’re all from the same place and that we all want to feel safe and loved. i’ve always known that music has to ability to speak a language much deeper than we know and to bring people together. this is the vision we had for ‘nowhere.'”
REIGHNBEAU’s “I Want Love”
Based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, REIGHNBEAU is the work of visual and sound artist Bryce Hample. Frequent collaborators include Colleen Johnson (Twig Palace) and Madeline Johnston (Sister Grotto). The act concocts hypnotic tracks that incorporate heavenly, oft-wordless vocal melodies with swelling layers of melodic beauty for a very gripping effect. Middle Boop Mag described the sound as one that “shift and sift like sand between fingers – sinking through with an odd satisfaction and surreal beauty as you interact with thousands of grains of ancient earth and animals, ground into silt after billions of years.”

Kacy & Clayton Return With ‘The Siren’s Song’ Produced By Jeff Tweedy
Kacy & Clayton are set to return with The Siren’s Song via New West Records on August 18th, 2017. The 9-song set was produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy and recorded by Tom Schick at Wilco’s The Loft in Chicago, IL. The Siren’s Song, is the follow up to their acclaimed 2015 New West Records debut Strange Country, and for the first time incorporates full, electric band arrangements. Their sound is an arresting amalgamation of psychedelic folk, English folk revival and the ancestral music of Southern Appalachia. Now rounded out by Mike Silverman on drums and percussion & Shuyler Jansen on bass, The Siren’s Song encompasses their 60’s and 70’s Folk and Traditional Country influences, but also introduces a new emphasis on groove.
