Introducing FayRoy!
Fay Roy have a sound that blends modern indie rock with a nostalgic reverence for the golden age of psychedelia. With it’s rollicking vintage synths and guitars somewhat reminiscent of “Estimated Prophet” era Grateful Dead, you can definitely feel the guys have a respect for their roots. Still, there is something decidedly contemporary to “Take My Eyes”.
The video follows suite in terms of the blending of today and yesteryear. It is highly stylized and vivaciously colorful as the cloaked figure of Death pursues the band members through a performance in an old house.

Lyndsey Smith and Soul Distribution – New Song
Lyndsey Smith is an R&B, Jazz and Soul Singer with a voice that truly comes from pain and triumph. This Jersey Shore native credits artist like Anita Baker, Chaka Kahn, Etta James, Stevie Wonder, EWF, Michael Jackson, but mostly her musical idol, Ella Fitzgerald.
Although her passion for singing began at the age of 3, she truly got a feel of performing in the front of people while singing in church choirs. She looked to one of her closest relatives, Susan Clark, who was a prominent ’90s dance-music singer, as an example on how to succeed in this industry. In high school she was apart of every musical group possible, including All-Shore Chorus, 4 school musicals, an Acapella Choir and the school’s Mass Chorus. She had a very brief stint with opera, but found that her niche was to sing jazz, gospel R&B and soul.

TANYA TAGAQ EARNS MAINSTREAM ACCLAIM WITH ACUTELY FEMINIST, POLITICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL ALBUM
Tanya Tagaq, the Polaris Prize winning experimental Inuk vocalist, released Retribution in October. From the squalling fury of the album’s title track and artistic centerpiece to the outer dimensional vortex of the song “Summoning,” which features The Element Choir (a 50-person improvisational choir often seen on stage with Tagaq), Retribution conjures, contorts and confronts. The industrial rhythms of “Aorta” sit alongside the trip-hop chill of “Cold.” The calming grace of “Sivulivinivut” and the ominous beauty of “Nacreous” culminate in the horror of the significance of Tagaq’s exquisite cover of Nirvana’s “Rape Me,” a message about violence against women and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women in Canada.
Retribution balances Tagaq’s sophisticated sui generis improvisational vocal style with meticulous studio production by violinist Jesse Zubot. Reviewers agree that the album is the closest thing to Tanya Tagaq’s mesmeric live performances, and that Retribution is, unequivocally, Tagaq’s best album to date.

Video: Nevelle Viracocha – “DIRRTY GAME”
Nevelle Viracocha’s Southern upbringing and worldly travels as an army brat has given him a unique global perspective on fitting in and standing up for what you believe in. Premiered by Viper Mag, the visual for “DIRRTY GAME” is a powerful statement against the media’s normalization of hate and prison industrial complex. With swinging sparkling keys that sound like they were attached to the pendulum of a grandfather clock, “DIRRTY GAME is a spaced-out Southern rap slapper made in the style of Three 6 Mafia or Big K.R.I.T, about staying loyal in a dirty world.
