MIKE MICTLAN PREMIERES “CLAPP’D” VIDEO
Mike Mictlan premieres the new video for “CLAPP’D” today. The video, directed by Kron, was filmed in the streets of Minneapolis and focuses on the harsh realities of gun violence in America. Mictlan explains the concept of the video by saying, “I wrote this song way before Ferguson, way before Freddie Gray. I could feel the climate rising in our country with every video of police brutality posted on the Internet. I wrote this song for my friend Abdulle Elmi, gunned down execution-style in the streets of Toronto. But the biggest surprise was playing “CLAPP’D” on tour with Doomtree and finding out that I also wrote this song for the people I performed it to in every city who needed it more than me. GREGG ALLMAN WATCH “AIN’T WASTIN’ TIME NO MORE” VIDEO
Rounder Records has released Gregg Allman Live: Back to Macon, GA today, August 7, 2015. The stellar live DVD/CD captures Allman and his eight-piece solo band in a high-energy performance that was recorded on January 14, 2014 at the venerable Grand Opera House, a 1,000 seat jewel of a theatre that was built in 1884 in Macon, the Middle Georgia town where it all began for the Allman Brothers Band over 40 years ago. The album features 16 tracks, made up of a varied selection of songs from the ABB catalog, tunes from Allman’s solo albums and several dynamic cover songs. The DVD, the first Allman’s ever released as a solo artist, will include two bonus tracks, as well as special interview segments.

BROOKLYN’S TOTAL MAKEOVER “NEW ENGLAND HIGHWAY”
Total Makeover is a band from Brooklyn led by Noah Stitelman. Joined by Julie Noyce, Sam Hendricks,and Brian Harney, the band was born from the ashes of Stitelman’s former band Neighbors, who were a local Brooklyn main stay before their untimely demise late last year. In early 2015, armed with a pile of new demos, Stitelman went in to the studio with Engineer/Producer Justin Gerrish (Vampire Weekend, The Strokes, Hamilton Leithauser) to start recording what would become their debut EP.

The Most Serene Republic emerged in 2005, still holding on to their teens, capturing all the wide-eyed wonder of youth with their debut album, Underwater Cinematographer, released on Arts & Crafts. Singer-songwriter Scott Krokoff’s country-tinged folk rock has drawn comparisons from Tom Petty to Father John Misty. His most recent single, “I Got Nothing” was offered as a free download via Sunset in the Rearview who noted the song conveys “a universal feeling that has rarely, if ever, been expressed so eloquently”.

The iconic Puerto Rican actress and singer, Rita Moreno, will be honored with “LA MUSA LEGACY AWARD” by the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame (LSHOF), during the 3rd Annual induction gala LA MUSA AWARDS to be held next October 15th in Miami Beach.
Rita Moreno is one of the most legendary Latina superstars in the entertainment business as well as one of the most influential personalities during the last seven decades. Moreno belongs to an elite group of only eight living artists who have won the EGOT, the most important arts and entertainment awards: an Oscar (1962), 2 Emmy’s (1977 and 1978), a Tony (1975), and a Grammy Award (1972). Moreno’s prolific professional career has also been recognized with a Star in Hollywood’s Hall of Fame, the National Medal of Freedom in 2004, the National Medal of Arts by President Obama in 2010, the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2014, and the Kennedy Center Honors in December.

Beborn Beton made a plan: to create an album without compromises in terms of composition and production. When this vision became reality, Beborn Beton showed a degree of consistency that, in hindsight, deserves respect. DEAD & COMPANY WITH JOHN MAYER ANNOUNCE HALLOWEEN MADISON SQUARE GARDEN CONCERT
Grateful Dead members Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir have joined forces with Grammy Winning singer/guitarist John Mayer to form the band Dead & Company. The band will take the stage at the legendary Madison Square Garden on Halloween night, October 31, 2015 and will perform two sets of music drawing largely from the Dead’s historic catalog of songs.
The Grateful Dead reunited earlier this summer for Fare Thee Well, a run of five sold-out stadium shows celebrating the Dead’s 50th anniversary as well as marking the last time the “core four” members Hart, Kreutzmann, Weir, and bassist Phil Lesh would perform together. (Lesh will continue to perform in his band “Phil and Friends.”) The shows were a record-setting success, and ignited enthusiasm for more concerts featuring Grateful Dead members. “There is a place where music, dreams and magic come together,” says band member Mickey Hart. “Grateful Dead music is a portal to that place. It was built to last!”

SEEPEOPLES “USED”
SeepeopleS are celebrating the release of their fifth album – and first album in four years – Dead Souls Sessions with a new video for the latest single from the record, “Used.”
Written and produced in Portland, Maine by the band and longtime visual collaborator Victoria Karol, the video centers on up-close, one-on-one moments with each band member in an intimate living room setting, while the blinking lights of a bustling city street flash maniacally in their faces, perhaps a reminder that the information age is always trying to break down the door. While the song’s lyrics focus on pressure to conform, and the idea that we as citizens are used as cogs in a greater machine, the band’s affable-yet-cynical sense of humor is still here, showcasing each band member’s ability to poke fun at themselves and SeepeopleS’ music.
