Indie-Americana duo, Smoke Season has released a visually stunning new music video in support of their new single, “Opaque.” The group, comprised of Gabrielle Wortman and Jason Rosen, have estasblished a name for themselves on the indie scene with their unique blend of folk inspired riffs and electronic anthems. “Opaque” is the second single off their latest EP, Hot Coals Cold Souls, now available on iTunes.
The music video was directed by Scott Fleishman of APLUSFILMZ; a team known for their VMA nomination (SchoolBoy Q) and their work with Kendrick Lamar, Sza, Talib Kewli and Murs. The video is a narrative that focuses on a love triangle displayed metaphorically through dance and body movement. Their vision was to create a sequence of images that could stand alone as art, but when merged depicts a love story through symbolism. The footage pulls from a stunning array of underwater shots, dance, colored smoke, milk, masks, light and more – which, after the “Badlands” video, further distinguishes Smoke Season’s cinematic flair.
