Recorded in the latter half of 2013 at Rockaway’s Backroom Studios under the guidance of producer Chris Pennie (The Dillinger Escape Plan/Coheed & Cambria) and engineer Kevin Antreassian (Deftones/The Number 12 Looks Like You), The Embryo EP is AUDIO INSIGHT’s first extensive release since their critically acclaimed debut album Dimensions dropped in Nov. 2010. Released to fans via the band’s Bandcamp page on January 5, 2014, the new EP also marks the Woodbridge-based progressive rock trio’s first new material since the release of their single “Bathe in the Earth,” which gained airtime on WSOU 89.5 FM, in Nov. 2012. An impressive cover of RUSH’s “The Spirit of Radio” was also previously recorded at Backroom Studios and released to fans in Nov. 2011.
“We were extremely fortunate to work with Chris,” says Anthony Celi (vocals/guitar), “and Kevin is always amazing at what he does. This album is a much better representation of who we are as a band; it’s a lot more dynamic and powerful. We covered a lot of ground with this one — and that’s exactly what we wanted (to do). We’re all very proud of it.”
