Nettwerk Music Group is excited to announce the signing of Melbourne-based, nine-piece neo soul/indie pop outfit The Bamboos to its label roster. Their new album, Fever In The Road, will be released on April 1, 2014.
The Bamboos are the brainchild of band leader Lance Ferguson, who initially drew inspiration from the instrumental raw funk of the late ‘60s and early ‘70s, but the band’s sound and style is in a constant state of evolution, keeping fans and critics alike on their toes and unable to pigeonhole. For Fever In The Road, Ferguson co-produced the album with ARIA-nominated, multi-instrumentalist studio wizard John Castle (Josh Pyke, Kate Miller-Heidke, Gossling), whom they worked with on their previous, three time ARIA-nominated album, 2012’s Medicine Man. Fever In The Road sees Castle and Ferguson venturing into sonic landscapes The Bamboos have previously touched on but never fully inhabited; there exists an aural complexity and depth that allows darker moods to roam through the album, with vocal duties split between Kylie Auldist and Ella Thompson, who bring contrasting yet complimentary styles.
