Bobby Womack, icon of classic American soul music, will appear for 3 nights of rare, intimate NYC concerts at the vibrant City Winery in Soho from December 20th – 22nd. City Winery is located at 155 Varick St, New York, NY 10013. Doors open at 6pm, and tickets are on sale now.
Womack released the terrific The Bravest Man In The Universe last year and, despite recent highly publicized battles with cancer, will play a triumphant three night stint at City Winery. The Bravest Man In The Universe, released on XL Recordings, was produced by XL’s Richard Russell and Damon Albarn, of the Gorillaz and Blur. Womack’s comeback guest appearance on Gorillaz’ 2010 release Plastic Beach lead to the collaboration. Previously, Russell and Albarn had worked together on Gil Scott-Heron’s final recording, I’m New Here.
