Anticipation for the 2014 Fest For Beatles Fans is already heating up! Requests are pouring in from all over the globe to attend the world’s longest running Beatles celebration. This year, The Fest will honor the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles coming to America. The festivities will take place Friday, February 7 through Sunday, February 9 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York City, with the dates and days of the week corresponding exactly to the dates of the Beatles’ 1964 arrival at JFK Airport, and performance on the Ed Sullivan Show.
The headliner for the 2014 Fest is British Invasion music star Donovan. After meeting the Beatles in 1965, Donovan rapidly became part of their inner circle, regarded as a close friend and musical peer, scoring 14 major worldwide chart hits. In 1968 he accompanied the Beatles on their spiritual quest to India. While there he shared his guitar technique with John, Paul and George, as manifested in such Beatles recordings later that year as “Dear Prudence,” “Mother Nature’s Son” and “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” In April 2009, he reunited with Paul & Ringo at a Transcendental Meditation Event in NYC. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, Donovan continues to be a potent musical force, creating fresh music such as his brand-new album “Shadows Of Blue” recorded in Nashville. In addition to headlining The Fest, Donovan will be giving a talk “Meditation and the White Album” and joining Beatles cover band Liverpool on stage for more musical highlights.
