Ba Da Bing is very excited to welcome Cross Record to its ever-growing family. After seeing Lady Lamb the Beekeeper and Xenia Rubinos play live in Chicago, 25-year old Emily Cross took a chance and sent her music to our office. One listen was all it took for the entire BaDaBing team to be enchanted. After that, we couldn’t wait for the opportunity to work with her.
Recently having moved from Chicago to Austin, Cross Record is Emily Cross and Dan Duszynski. Be Good was released in a small run of 300 LPs in late 2012 by Lay Flat and was the first time beyond Bandcamp that people had the opportunity to hear Emily’s hypnotic vocals, multilayered instrumentation and entrancing melodies. Ba Da Bing will be distributing the last remaining copies of that original pressing —a beautiful, white-vinyl album with poster insert. In addition, we are releasing Be Good for the first time on CD. Presently at work on her next album, Emily Cross’ next release will be on Ba Da Bing.
