Craig Gordon was a moniker assigned to Delta Mirror front man, Chris Acosta, by friends as an inside joke that lasted until 2012 when he was introduced to himself for the very first time. Where The Delta Mirror’s first release, Machines that Listen, was a concept album written entirely from the perspective of other people, Better Unsung is a more personal look into the musician’s life. Thusly, Chris Acosta was necessary. Far more dynamic than it’s older sister, this record is step away from the glitchy electronics of Machines. It’s track list harbors more diversity in instrumentation and theme and even pays homage to song writing inspirations My Morning Jacket and Q Lazzuras.
