A lo-fi synth tune about empty threats, “Blackmail” is based on the idea that the threats of others are based in fear and don’t carry that much weight in the scheme of things. “For instance, I used to get bullied in school on a daily basis growing up, but those kids never really had any power over me. Once I realized people only have the power over me that I allow them to have, it got easier to cope,” he says.
