In 2005, after celebrating five Top 20 singles, a #1 single in “Everything You Want” and a #4 for “You’re A God”, the group known as Vertical Horizon took a self imposed hiatus to pursue other interests. In 2007, recharged and refocused the band began writing and recording their new album, Burning The Days,” slated for release on September 22nd, 2009.
“We realized there was just more for us to do, we went to work,” said Vertical Horizon lead vocalist and lead guitarist Matt Scannell. Afforded the luxury to nurture those moments of inspiration, the album, according to the band, “is sonically as good as anything we have ever done. We take great pride in this album and hope it will resonate with our fans.”
