I Break Horses Share The Field Remix Of “Death Engine” || ‘Warnings’ Out Now On Bella Union

Faced with making the follow-up to 2014’s plush Chiaroscuro, Horses’s Maria Lindén decided to take the time to make something different, with an emphasis on instrumental, cinematic music. As she watched a collection of favorite films on her computer (sound muted) and made her own soundtrack sketches, these sonic workouts gradually evolved into something more: “It wasn’t until I felt an urge to add vocals and lyrics,” says Lindén, “that I realized I was making a new I Break Horses album.”
Ron Gallo Shares “White Christmas” (Irving Berlin Cover) Via Glide
A few years ago around Christmas I sat on the floor solo in front of a TV fireplace and listened to the Dean Martin Christmas Album 12 full times on repeat then recorded this cover. I love the old crooner stuff. It’s like a blanket. With how 2020 has been, I’ve leaned heavy into nostalgia as a mental survival tactic so figured I’d give this track a proper release and used a photo of me as a kid on Christmas as the cover art as another way to return to what seemed like “simpler times”.
