New > RVNG Intl. announce > Becoming Peter Ivers > hear single ‘In Heaven’

Becoming Peter Ivers, out November 8th via RVNG Intl., tells the story of the late Peter Ivers, a virtuosic songwriter and musician whose antics bridged not just 60s counterculture and New Wave music but also film, theater, and music television. Becoming Peter Ivers is the most expansive effort yet to collect his archival recordings, and raises the curtain on this mischievous master of ceremonies, who, harmonica in hand, rarely missed a chance to light up an audience. Today, RVNG Intl. presents “In Heaven,” a song co-written with David Lynch and commissioned by the filmmaker to be featured in a now-iconic scene of Eraserhead. Additionally, they share an album teaser.

Spearmint announce new album out November 1st on hitBACK | Hear first single ’24 Hours in A&E’

This year marks the 20th anniversary of their debut release ‘A Week Away’, but Spearmint have their minds firmly focused on the years to come. Spearmint’s singer and song-writer Shirley Lee explains, “The title ‘Are You From The Future?’ refers to the younger folk, who will see a future that I won’t. I can only apologise for what my generation and the baby boomers are passing on – the sooner the current teens and twenty-somethings are running the world the better, as far as I’m concerned.”

DMC (RUN DMC) Reveals Early Taste of New Song, “The Man”

Legendary Hop Hop Pioneer DMC (RUN-D.M.C) has released a teaser for the new song, “The Man.” With instrumentation written and performed by MATT ZANE of SOCIETY 1, “The Man” appears an unlikely collaboration due to Zane not being known publicly for his songwriting or guitar playing but, unknown to most, he is actually a graduate of MIT for guitar. Since then Zane has written and licensed multiple songs for various outlets but took a substantial break the last few years to focus on his directing career. DMC and Zane met when the late Wayne Static introduced them, believing Zane would be a good fit for directing the music video and track “Noise Revolution,” which Wayne sang on. After directing the video, Zane was inspired by the collaboration but was overwhelmed with music video work which forced his musical aspirations to be neglected for years to come. After a conscious shift to re-focus on music Zane’s very first track was written specifically with DMC in mind.
