The Roamies – “We Can Work It Out” Music Video Out Now

Sometimes life gives us lemons. And, unfortunately, sometimes it throws those lemons at us really hard, one after another, no rest in between, no warning the next one is coming. Our instinct is to run…hide…protect ourselves. Forget about making lemonade! And what about those we love, those sharing life with us? They’re right there beside us dodging lemons too. That’s where Love steps up. Love’s instinct is to love them as we love ourselves. Even to put them above ourselves. If we’re all living to love each other as we love ourselves, to put each other first, those difficulties life throws at us become opportunities to work together, to build our relationships, to make them stronger…together. When the harsh difficulties of life fall on us, and nasty disagreements spring up between us, together, with Love and commitment to each other, We Can Work It Out. – The ROAMies

Rob Mayes Premieres New Track, “We’ll See” from Forthcoming Debut Album, Closer, Set for Release on Sept. 20

Actor-singer-songwriter, Rob Mayes is set to release his new track, “We’ll See” on Sept. 6. A first-listen is now available on The Boot (see here @skopemag). “We’ll See” was inspired by a Chinese fable that resonated with Mayes. Mayes sings, “Sometimes good and bad luck look a lot like each other.” The lyrics are reassurance that negative experiences may actually be positive experiences in the long run and that many lessons and hardships are a blessing in disguise. Mayes explains, “This song is about hope and faith and I think that there must have been some sort of spirit running through me, through the three of us, that allowed us to simply bring the song to life.”

THE KNOCKS CONTINUE THEIR STREAK OF RELEASES WITH NEW VIDEO FOR “AWA NI” WITH KAH-LO

The visual for “Awa Ni” plunges us into a day in the life of children seeking fun on a budget, escaping their township and heading for the beachside. The chaotic rumble is told from the perspective of the kids as they take us from the playgrounds to the open ocean, ultimately laying claim to the surf.

Jaywood – ‘Mooncats’

JayWood is Jeremy Haywood-Smith from Winnipeg, MB. What started as bedroom “sad jangle pop songs” started to change as time went on (both style and direction wise) into a more “psych funk” sound. His new single “Moon Cats” showcases an electronic groove with funk, psych-rock and pop inspiration.

DANNY BROWN ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM!

In the nearly ten years since Danny Brown’s magnum opus XXX was released, he has permeated both underground and mainstream music culture with an authentic and ever-evolving persona and a sound wholly his own, transcending genres and any parameters the world around him might impose. He set the blueprint for many of today’s critical darlings and opened doors for so many following his personally audacious start. Today, Brown announces his long-awaited return with his fifth studio album uknowhatimsayin¿, slated for release on October 4th via WARP. The news coincides with the release of the album’s first single and video “Dirty Laundry”, directed by Simon Cahn. Brown’s lyrics balance earnest storytelling with laugh-out-loud one-liners, especially apparent on “Dirty Laundry”; Danny’s ode to standup comedy, an art-form he’s long respected. Danny goes on to explain “This is my version of a stand-up comedy album. Most of my close friends now aren’t rappers — they’re comedians and actors. So I wanted to create something that mixed humor with music. Something that was funny but not parody.”

High Clouds premiere Moon Panda’s “dreamy, trippy” video for “On The Attack”

While “Attack” details the trials and tribulations of a long-term relationship, the Charlotte Spies-animated video is a technicolor contrast featuring shapeshifting animals. While that might seem visually disconnected from the song, singer/bassist Maddy Myers and Danish guitarist Gustav Moltke contend it couldn’t be more relevant to the subject.

Casanova Recruits Chris Brown and Cool & Dre for “Coming Home”

“Unlike most current New Yorker rappers, Casanova opts to body tracks akin to the days of G-Unit or Dipset, brandishing rapid-fire flows and throaty growls full of malice that are equally as menacing as his 6’4″ frame.” – HipHopDX

“Thanks to Casanova’s strapping voice, charismatic personality, and unyielding confidence, “Don’t Run” set New York’s music scene ablaze…With an already convincing résumé, Casanova isn’t slowing down anytime soon.” – Billboard

Zush pours triples and trashes the bar on new tune ‘Knock It Back’

London rapper and former Locksmiths member Zush pours triples and trashes the bar on new tune ‘Knock It Back’. The flow is straight out of London and the taste is a vodka-soaked track where Zush’s smooth flow is served over an ice-cold beat which goes deep on the kicks.

Crossed Keys (ex Kid Dynamite/Good Riddance) Premiere “Times of Grace”

Sometimes you need a healthy dose of melodic punk to push you through the rest of the work week. It’s my pleasure to introduce you to Philadelphia’s own Crossed Keys. Featuring former members of Kid Dynamite, Zolof the Rock & Roll Destroyer, and The Curse, Crossed Keys channel the sound and energy of the VFW shows that served as the foundation for the tri-state area underground scene throughout the 90’s and early aughts. In May of 2019, the band recorded seven tracks with Mike Bardzik (Joyce Manor, Spraynard, Kill Your Idols) at Noisy Little Critter. “Times of Grace” is a fiery track that plays like a love letter to the ethos of embracing D.I.Y. culture. You can stream the song and read a brief interview, with vocalist Joshua Alvarez, at New Noise Magazine. Saviors will be released on October 4th via Hellminded Records. You can pre-order a copy of the release on tape or vinyl starting today.
